The Augusta GreenJackets have started a campaign to prolong New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez’s rehab assignment in the South.
Augusta for A-Rod is a campaign aimed at encouraging the Yankees to extend Rodriguez’s rehab stint to include a road trip to Lake Olmstead Stadium this week.
Rodriguez began his rehab assignment with the Charleston RiverDogs on Tuesday, and he is not expected to be with the club beyond Wednesday. The RiverDogs will visit the GreenJackets for a four-game series beginning Thursday.
GreenJackets fans can use the code AROD to purchase tickets to Thursday’s game. If Rodriguez doesn’t play in Augusta, fans who use the code can still attend Thursday’s game and receive a free ticket of equal or lesser value to another game during the weekend’s series with Charleston.
