The Big Idea: Develop a mile of forgotten riverfront land with parks and a "new urbanist" village

Cost: $100 million private, $38 million public

Details: Create San Bar Ferry Village of housing and retail to replace distressed housing complexes, build a Savannah River park with camping and multi-recreational uses, create Sand Bar Ferry Park that can be used for fairgrounds, stables, organic farm and organized sports, extend Broad Street

Time: 5 to 10 years

Champions: Augusta city and local clubs
