At a glance

The Big Idea: Give Harrisburg a new image and identity with a mixed-use retail center.

Cost: $100 million private, $25 million public

Details: Build residential units along the First Level Canal, create a new 80,000 square foot commercial center, re-establish canal pathways, improve Broad Street streetscape, re-use Sibley Mill and King Mill, relocate power transmission lines

Time: 10 to 20 years

Champions: Augusta Canal Authority-led collaboration
