Valerie Weaver holds her 6-year-old son, Preston, after feeding him on Thursday, March 27, 2014. Preston, who has intractable seizures, is unable to communicate or hold his head up on his own. Valerie said he has between 5 to 8 seizures a day that have increased in intensity over the years. She thinks cannabis oil would reduce the number of seizures. "It gives me hope," Valerie said. "There's no telling what Preston could learn to do if the seizures stopped." JON-MICHAEL SULLIVANSTAFF
