Georgia Trees Threatened
The emerald ash borer, a non-native pest that attacks ash trees, has now shown up in Georgia, barely a decade after it was first detected in Michigan. The borer is the latest in a lengthening line of foreign bugs and diseases attacking Georgia forests.

Field of Flags
Flags are displayed by a community service group organized by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic that worked to create the "Field of Honor for All Home Days" in Elysburg, Pa. for Labor Day weekend. The field is a tribute to service members and emergency personnel who died while serving.
