SC high school football Week 6 predictions

1 of 5
Silver Bluff Bulldogs (4-1, 0-0) vs. Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders (5-0, 0-0)
This is the region opener for both teams but this is probably also the region championship game. Of the six teams in Region 5-AA, Silver Bluff and Bamberg-Ehrhardt are the only two to enter this week with winning records. The winner of this match up should have smooth sailing to a region title. Silver Bluff has had, by far, the more difficult nonregion schedule. That, and the Bulldogs' frustrations after losing to rival Strom Thurmond a week ago, will help the home team get the win. PREDICTION: Silver Bluff wins 24-21
2 of 5
Strom Thurmond Rebels (4-1, 0-0) at Brookland-Cayce Bearcats (1-4, 0-0)
Like Silver Bluff, Strom Thurmond opens region play this week, but the Rebels get to ease into the games that count. Brookland-Cayce doesn't have the fire power this year. The Bearcats' only win is against an 0-6 team from Class A. The Rebels are riding high after their big rivalry win at Silver Bluff last week, and this region opener won't present much of a challenge at all. PREDICTION: Strom Thurmond wins 42-0
3 of 5
Aiken Hornets (2-3) vs. Blythewood Bengals (4-1)
While rivals North Augusta and South Aiken take the week off, Aiken will get in one last nonregion game. It won't be an easy one. Blythewood knocked off a quality Sumter team by more than two touchdowns. Aiken has had consistency problems this year. It's hard to say which Hornets team will show up, but I think Sumter will be too much regardless. PREDICTION: Sumter wins 28-14
