The Augusta Chronicle looks at some of the people, places and communities in an ongoing series on important thoroughfares in the area.
This month we visit Washington Road. The road, which was a Cherokee trading path in the 1700s and once extended all the way to Wilkes County, has now become a bellwether of commercial and retail growth in Richmond and Columbia counties.
