Club meeting


The CSRA Republican Women’s Club will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at Mi Rancho Mexican Restaurant, 3064 Washington Road.

Georgia school superintendant candidates Mary Kay Bacallao, Nancy Jester, Ashley Bell, Mike Buck, Fitz Johnson and Richard Wood have been invited. David Perdue, a candidate for U.S. Senate, will attend.

The Adolphus Greely Chapter of the Signal Corps Regimental Association is accepting applications for its 2014 scholarship program. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in the CSRA, dependants of Greely Chapter members in good standing or dependants of Department of Defense employees attending an accredited college, community college, university or trade/technical school.

Choral concert

The Augusta Choral Society will present Pipes, Brass & Drums at 7:30 p.m. March 29 at St. Paul’s Church.

The Georgia Press Association is holding a contest to support newspapers.

Georgia residents are invited to enter by taking a creative photograph with their local newspaper and posting it on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ReadLocalGA.

Tax preparation

The 30901 Development Corporation VITA/TCE Tax Site will offer free tax preparation at Beulah Grove Community Resource Center, 1446 Lee Beard Way.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday by appointment, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for walk-ins.

Garden clubs

The Augusta Council of Garden Clubs will hold its annual Spring Luncheon March 27 at the Augusta Country Club.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with the program at 10 a.m. There will be award presentations, silent auctions and door prizes.
