Comcast employees and residents of Augusta spent April 27 at Golden Harvest Food Bank as part of Comcast Cares Day.

Among the tasks assigned were food packing and sorting efforts to help provide quality food and other grocery products to those in need. More than 125 Augusta Comcast employees and volunteers are expected to donate time to five projects benefiting local community organizations.

Nationally, Comcast estimates 70,000 volunteers participated in 600 Comcast Cares Day projects.
