Military news

Army Cadet Denzel P. Reynolds has received the George C. Marshall Award during an awards ceremony at the Marshall Center, Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Va. The award, named for former secretary of state and secretary of defense George C. Marshall, is presented to the most outstanding senior Army ROTC cadets in each battalion at universities and colleges. It is the highest award an ROTC cadet can receive. Reynolds also graduated from the airborne training course at Fort Bennings, Columbus, Ga. He is the grandson of Betty Reynolds and a 2009 graduate of Glenn Hills High School.

Air Force Airman Edgar I. Park graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Sang and Chong Park and a 2012 graduate of Greenbrier High School.

Sgt. Tethonia Blair and Sgt. Brett A. Ringgold are scheduled to graduate Staff Noncommissioned Officer’s Academy Sergeants Leadership Course at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Blair is a 2001 graduate of Cross Creek High School. Ringgold is a 2005 graduate of Lakeside High School.

Dean’s list

James Thomas Mullins and Andrienne Ignatia Terrell have been named to the dean’s list at Greensboro College for the fall 2012 semester.
