Hephzibah High School's junior varsity baseball team won the Richmond County Region Junior Varsity Championship.

Episcopal Day School has made the following announcements:

- Winners for the state of Georgia in the National History Day competition held by the Georgia Humanities Council -- eighth graders Madeline Edwards , first place; and Miller Murray , second place.

- National Spanish Examinations -- John Patten Moss , silver medal; and Madeline Edwards, Charlotte McDonough and Francis Medina , bronze medals.

Also, Miller Murray, Jack Guitton, Kiana Ladson, Annalaura Cranford, Cameron Cheape, Ana Harbin, Whitt Rutland, Margaret Cavanaugh, McCall Chambers, Caroline Huggins, Ellen Everitt, Rachel Scroggs and Harrison Harper , honorable mention.

Chosen for Who's Who

Amy Leigh Dalton , a graduate of Curtis Baptist High School and daughter of Bobby Gene and Joan Dalton, of Augusta, has been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American Universities & Colleges at Young Harris (Ga.) College.

Honor graduate

La'Toyia Jackson , a 2007 graduate of Glenn Hills High School and daughter of Hayward and Tonya Jackson, has graduated with honors from Georgia Southwestern University, Americus. She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

- Navy Seaman Elizabeth R. Lathan , a 2010 graduate of Cross Creek High School and daughter of Lydia J. and Donald R. Lathan, of Hephzibah, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
