Beatles tunes


Tribute concerts featuring the music of The Beatles will be performed by Ed Turner and Number 9 at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Paul S. Simon Discovery Theater at Fort Discovery, 1 Seventh St.

Proceeds from the all-ages shows will benefit the CSRA Humane Society.

Screen time

Augusta State University's spring film series continues at 7 p.m. Mondays through March 30 in University Hall, Room 170. Augusta State is at 2500 Walton Way.

The next movie in the series, Religulous , rated R, will be shown Monday.

The film series is free and open to the public.

Training sessions

Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Services will have volunteer training sessions March 19-23.

The first session will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Cafeteria Classroom 1 at University Hospital, 350 Walton Way.

Volunteers serve the agency in a number of ways, including answering calls, providing emergency-room advocacy for victims of sexual assault, and volunteering in the office.

Brain stimulation

Fort Discovery and the Medical College of Georgia are teaming up to celebrate Brain Awareness Week from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Fort Discovery, 1 Seventh St.

The event will include interactive activities and games for kids of all ages. There will be free food from Rhinehart's for the first 100 people. Prizes will be given away hourly.

Manhood issues

Let Us Make Man: The Gathering to Reclaim Black Manhood will take place Saturday, March 21, at Paine College, 1235 15th St.

The free event will begin at 8 a.m. Hundreds of men, women and youths will try to change the way black men interact with one another, operate in their community and hold themselves accountable.

The opening speaker will be Penny Brown Reynolds, of Family Court with Judge Penny .

Aquinas musical

The musical Godspell will be performed by the Aquinas High School music and drama departments at 7:30 p.m. March 26-28 in the auditorium at Monte Sano Elementary School, 2164 Richmond Ave.

Tickets are available at Aquinas High School and cost $10 for adults and $7 for students with identification.
