Taking plunge for charity

 

WKXC Kicks 99 FM radio station, along with the Parrot Heads of the Savannah River, raised money for more than 2,000 coats for the Salvation Army on Jan. 16 during the Polar Plunge.

In honor society

Deryus Jahrell Tillman , of Hephzibah, son of Annie Powell and Charles Tillman, has been inducted into Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro.

Earns social science degree

Jonnathan Lee , of Hephzibah, has earned a bachelor of science degree in social science at Charleston Southern University, S.C.

Make Cincinnati dean's list

Consuella Streaty and Derek Marks , both of Augusta, have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2008 semester at the University of Cincinnati.

Military milestones

The following military announcements have been made:

- Army Reserve Pvt. Cierra M. Richardson , a 2008 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and daughter of Linda Taylor, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Pfc. Jullie Frencher , granddaughter of Mattie Brooks, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Spec. Alexis R. Johnston , a 2008 graduate of Augusta State University and daughter of Eileen Johnston, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.
