Family Fun Fest is a Futurity favorite

Gabrielle Rice rode the mechanical bull at last year's Wrangler Family Fun Fest outside James Brown Arena.

The Wrangler Family Fun Fest will return Saturday as an addition to this year's Augusta Futurity events.

"The Augusta Futurity is an amazing family experience, and the Wrangler Family Fun Fest was created as an event for the families that attend," said Sarah Childers, an organizer of the event. "This is a great opportunity to create some memories and spend quality time with each other."

The free event will include a petting zoo, pony rides, a live bull and a mechanical bull. It will also include performances by Livingroom Legends and area cloggers. Popcorn, hot cocoa and cider will be served.

The second elimination drawing for the 9-to 12-year-old category in The Augusta Chronicle's Make Kids Count contest is scheduled to take place at noon during the event.

Those attending the Fun Fest will receive free admission tickets to the Futurity's indoor events. The tickets will be good for Saturday's events only, Ms. Childers said.

The Augusta Futurity begins today and will continue until Jan. 26. For a complete listing of events and other information, visit
