Everyone has rosy deal in food bank fundraiser

Roses can carry a hefty price.

However, during Caring Rose Week, Monday through Nov. 17, $10 and two cans of food, or $12 can get you a dozen roses.

"Quite a few people like roses, so we're hoping with it being a rose event, it will bring in some extra folks and bring in more canned goods or money for the food bank," said Carrie Jones, of the Golden Harvest Food Bank.

The food and $2 from each $12 purchase will go to the food bank.

The event is in its eighth year. Last year, the food bank received 986 pounds of food and raised almost $700.
