Olympic shooters from as many as 10 different countries may train at the Pinetucky Skeet & Trap Club and at the South Carolina Outdoor Shooting Center.

Venues


Pinetucky Skeet & Trap Club
Located on Camp Josey Road off U.S. Highway 1 in South Richmond County, the club houses six trap and skeet fields; one five-stand sporting clays field; one sporting clays course; and various rifle and pistol ranges.

South Carolina
Outdoor Shooting Center

The shooting center is located just off Charleston Highway about 10 miles southeast of Aiken. The center holds an Olympic trap and four international skeet fields.

British trap team likes local site:

During a practice session in the Augusta area, visiting members of the British Olympic Shooting Team say they were rooting for fellow countryman Nick Faldo to win the Masters.

Italian trap shooters not coming to Windsor:
Jan. 20, 1996
Part of the Italian Olympic shooting team has decided to train in Florida instead of at the South Carolina Outdoor Shooting Center in Windsor.

British trap team shoots in South Carolina:
Dec. 1, 1995
The owner of the South Carolina Outdoor Shooting Center has completed the facility's trap bunker, barely beating the arrival of one of the world's top Olympic shooting teams.

Olympic trap lures teams to train:

After encountering as many obstacles as a cross country course, the prospects that Aiken may host practice sessions for several foreign Olympic shooting teams are on track again.

British team visits Pinetucky:
March 19, 1995
Shooters from Britain were treated to their first Low Country Boil by Pinetucky Skeet & Trap Club near Augusta.

British shoot in South Carolina:
March 10, 1995
The wind was icy, one of the marksmen had congested sinuses and the practice grounds were incomplete. Nonetheless, Great Britain's Olympic skeet team coach and manager gave four members a workout at the South Carolina Outdoor Shooting Center

Israeli shooters to train in Richmond County:
Jan. 15, 1995
The Israeli shooting team will train at Pinetucky Skeet & Trap Club in south Augusta before the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, local officials said Monday.

Army coach praises Pinetucky:
Jan. 15, 1995
"It looks like this is going to be one of the premier ranges in the United States,'' said Ronnie Bowles, international pistol team coach for the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit at Fort Benning, Ga., as he look over the Pinetucky Skeet & Trap Club.
