- There will be a benefit basketball game Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. featuring the South Aiken varsity basketball team against the SRCF Ballers at the South Aiken High gymnasium. The game is being held to help raise money for the Savannah River Cancer Foundation. All proceeds will be given to the foundation to help those who are fighting cancer and need money to help with medication and treatment. - The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their "Magic As Ever" world tour to Augusta on March 7. The event will be held at 7 p.m. at James Brown Arena. - The Augusta Boxing Club will present open-to-the-public sparring matches at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Augusta Boxing Club, located at 1929 Walton Way. There is no charge for attendance and the public is welcome. Adult boxers must weigh in the previous Monday, and youth must weigh in on Tuesday to be eligible to spar. - The National MS Society's Mid-Atlantic Chapter will play host to the second annual Savannah River Ride fund-raiser Oct. 20-21 at Savannah Lakes Resort & Marina in McCormick, S.C. It is designed to be a family-friendly ride, and cyclists from beginners to experts, with 35- and 75-mile routes each day. Rest stops will be located every 5-10 miles, including food, drinks and rest rooms. Volunteers are also needed. - On Nov. 17-18, the Thomson-McDuffie Recreation & Leisure Services will play host to the second annual Arthur Green Youth Football Tournament at Sweetwater Park in Thomson. Age divisions offered will be 10-under and 12-under. Entry fee for the tournament will be $50 per team, and the format will be determined by the number of entries. - The 15th annual Camp Rainbow Golf Tournament will be held Monday at Jones Creek Golf Club in Evans. Operated by the Medical College of Georgia's Children's Medical Center, Camp Rainbow is a camp for children with cancer and rare blood disorders. A $500 donation per four-man team includes tournament shirt, greens fees, cart fee, beverages on the course, dinner and prizes.

- Wackenhut is will hold its 20th annual United Way Golf Tournament on Monday at Woodside Plantation Country Club in Aiken. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a putting contest from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 10:30- 11:30 a.m., and there will be a shotgun start at noon. The cost is $400 per foursome, with the entry fee donated to United Way.

- The Junior League of Augusta will hold its third annual golf tournament on Monday at West Lake Country Club. The golf tournament will include a lunch at 11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. For sponsorship and team information, please contact event chairman Kari Baker at All funds raised through the tournament are used for the Junior League of Augusta's community projects.

- The Omega Psi Phi fraternity's annual Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held Friday at Forest Hills Golf Club. There will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Tournament fee is $60 per person or $240 for a four-man team, and includes greens fees, cart rental, range balls, lunch, beverages, awards and prizes. - The Evans High School baseball program will play host to a benefit golf tournament on Oct. 21 at Gordon Lakes Golf Course at Fort Gordon. The cost is $50 per player and $100 for hole sponsorship. - The South Aiken boys basketball teams are sponsoring a golf tournament Oct. 26 at Cedar Creek Golf Club.
