Democrats increase lying game to new level as election nears

  • Follow Opinion columns

There’s an old saying, sometimes attributed to Newt Gingrich, that “They can lie louder, but we can tell the truth longer.” I’d like to believe that, but after years of watching the Lying Left in action, I’m not so sure.

Based on how they’ve ramped up their game since the Obamaviks arrived in Washington back in 2009, I’m convinced that the Lying Left possesses the audacity, the shamelessness and the relentlessness required to tell the most outrageous and vile lies every bit as long as those of us who love liberty can tell the truth.

Ho Chi Minh said that Americans were “short of breath” – they did not have the will to go the distance and defeat North Vietnam and the Viet Cong. If he had had more knowledge of American politics, he might have revised his statement to say that it is pseudo-conservative Americans who are short of breath.

The Lying Left has been blessed with a cesspool of bona-fide marathon liars, and is well aware that most professed conservatives have neither the strength nor the character to match their outrageous lies with the truth indefinitely.

The worst-kept secret in Washington is that Republicans are easily intimidated by the Lying Left. At the first sight of blood, mushy RINOs fold under such euphemisms as “compromise,” “bipartisanship,” and “Americans want us to work together.”

CONSERVATIVE TRUTHS have a tendency to morph into lies over time. Compromise is a lie. Bipartisanship is a lie. The desire for Democrats and Republicans to work together is a lie. What these euphemisms really mean is more government control, more regulation, higher taxes and less liberty.

The endurance of the Lying Left is a testament to the efficacy of one of Saul Alinsky’s most cherished community-organizing strategies: Isolate and target your enemies (usually those who work for a living and respect the rights of others), then overwhelm them with lies. If you’re caught with your pants on fire, not a problem. Just put out the blaze quickly and double down on your lies.

The biggest lie of all, of course, is Obamacare – a hot topic among Beltwayans. The media is in a frenzy trying to smooth over the question of how BHO could have been so “inaccurate” when he was trying to sell his Obamonstrosity to the giddy American public back in his lying heyday. Now, the whole unconstitutional mess is rapidly becoming a buffet of lies.

For starters, the $1 trillion cost is a lie. Though the Congressional Budget Office projects the cost of Obamacare to be roughly double that amount, the truth is that, if it is not overturned or repealed, it will end up costing many multiplies of the original “estimate.”

Some members of the Lying Left occasionally let their egos and arrogance get the best of them and unthinkingly tell the truth when they want to shove their agenda into the faces of their opponents.

That’s what happened with Donald Berwick, whom Obama named as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in 2010, when he said, in a 2008 speech about the British health-care system, “Any health-care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must – must – redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent health care is by definition redistributional.”

SECRETARY OF Energy Steven Chu, another card-carrying member of the Lying Left, made the same kind of ego-oriented mistake, also in 2008, when he said, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”

Government-created rights – food stamps, unemployment benefits, Social Security, Medicare, card checks, global warming, green energy, cap-and-trade, artificially low interest rates, fiat currency – are lies, lies and more lies.

The founder of the Lying Left, Vladimir Lenin, undoubtedly would have scolded both Berwick and Chu if he were alive today. Lenin made the rules of the game clear when he famously said, “To tell the truth is a petty bourgeois habit, whereas for us to lie is justified by our objectives.”

And he would have chuckled at today’s Republicans, who don’t have strong enough convictions to seriously challenge the Lying Left. It would please him greatly to see that there are still plenty of useful idiots who can be manipulated.

All of which raises the question: How do we go about putting a presidential candidate in place who has the courage to match the Lying Left, lie for lie, with the truth – and then some?

If you know the answer to this question, please do not hesitate to step forward and speak your piece, because the way things look right now, conservatives are once again about to be sold out.

Its interesting, hopefully

Its interesting, hopefully not enlightening about how people in the South think or feel-reading this 'article'. Usually I would not read to the end...someone who writes with repetitive words about others lying is a turnoff I suppose.

Perhaps its a mistake thinking others are as curious as I am. Not getting my news from one location, rather searching out a variety of sources for a good cross-section is what I perfer. Something you may not even have considered is turning to Twitter.com? The reason I bring it up: In my town there was a huge fire in a historic building late one night, we were returning from seeing a play downtown. We switced on the news, flipped to another channel and there was nothing about every fire truck in the entire county surrounding two city blocks ablaze! Amazed that my wife suggested we open the laptop and check Twitter-what?? I was astounded I can tell you. Not only was the story right there-they had Pictures too. Of course the next days paper had already been printed so this story about the fire didnt show up for another day.

If you open the paper and the writers are short on vocabulary like this here article, I'd sure as heck do some googling around the Internet or at least start with Twitter. About the real facts of politics you can find out rather easily what they're fighting about and who is paying for it. Its US the public actually thats paying for our Representatives to sit on their asses and not get anything done and lets dont forget they have Free Healthcare for Life-thats after only one term in office. But who said Life is fair?

Obama lied about his mother's

Obama lied about his mother's health insurance to sell the Obama care monstrosity. Obama is mis leading when he talks about America's proven oil reserves. Obama lies when he said he could expedite the southern leg of the Keystone pipe line. One could go on for hours about all of Obama's lies.

I have spent a lot of my time

I have spent a lot of my time wondering how long Obama haters and Republicans and the Tea Party are going to be peed off because we have a Black president. It also seems that they are very sore losers. My opinion is that the Democrats and Obama are doing a pretty good job wrestling down the monster the Republicans created. I believe that the Republicans are easily brainwashed. I mean, just look at some of their heroes: Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Neal Boortz. Take Limbaugh, for iinstance. I can't believe that any human being, especially a Christian, could sit and listen to the racist and idiotic words that roar out of his mouth.
It's been exactly two years since President Obama signed health reform into law. Today, children with pre - existing conditions can no longer be denied coverage. President Obama never lost sight of the fact that this reform is about people not insurance companies. His own mother spent the last years of her life fighting Cancer - and fighting with insurance companies, too . That shouldn't happen. And because of Obamacare, it can't. So next time you hear Republicans, Tea Party and Obama haters railing against this law, remember what they are actually saying they want to take away.

its amazing to see someone

its amazing to see someone dump so much vitriolic energy into such dumb logic as this. the author should go outside and strike up conversations with some democrat-leaning folks. he may not agree with them, nor need he, but maybe he can find a healthier way to disagree with them than to paint the whole other side of the political fence with the colors of lenin and all the other comically exagerrated claims he makes. for someone so morally offended by the idea of lying, he has utterly no grip on the truth. ah, irony...

Guest columnist? That would

Guest columnist? That would seem to infer that the writer prepared a special column for the AC. Instead, what they call a "guest column" is a reprint of a column from the folks at Birther Central, otherwise known as World Net Daily. Is the AC in such dire straights that they have to pull articles from one of the most fact deprived webites out there?

"...how long Obama haters and

"...how long Obama haters and Republicans and the Tea Party are going to be peed off because we have a Black president"

How long before Obama lovers and Democracts get it through their thick skulls that it's not about the president's skin color, it's about the policies and decisions, he and his administration are making....but by all means keep telling that lie like Mr. Ringer talked about.

Seems to me that whether the "guest column" was written specifically for or borrow from (I'm sure with permission) another news source, wouldn't change the vialidity of the article. Tech, may I suggest that you inquire throughout some of your liberal news sources and you will find the same thing......it happens.

The liberal's substitution of

The liberal's substitution of the word "HATE" for "DISAGREE" shows just how far over the edge they are. They have decided that ANY disagreement with hussein is because of race. How shallow can one get. They will not discuss any issue-just scream HATER or RACIST. I DO NOT AGREE WITH SUBSIDIZING THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD!Now they will say that i am a racist or a birther or a hater without even mentioning the issue. That is how brainwashed they are. They condon maher calling palin a slut but condemn limbaugh's SAME terminology toward this "student". Their own logic is that it depends on the medium used. What a crock!

Calling WND a news source is

Calling WND a news source is stretching it. They'll charge (scam) you for sending a letter, publish piles of birther nonsense (so you'll buy Farrah's book), republish all of the same birther nonsense with sheriff Joe (oops, Obama released his birth certificate 3 weeks before Farrah's "Where's the Birth Certificate came out (killing book sales so he had to run another scam to get rid of all of the books he bought himself), and every nutcase conspiracy he can find. When Farrah announces, "Admittedly, we publish some misinformation by columnists", that's not a good sign for the integrity of the site. This column fits in that category.

Did I miss the comments

Did I miss the comments condemning the $2 billion a year subsidy for a dictatorial thug in Egypt? I also seem to have missed the ones condemning Reagan for providing and subsidizing Saddam's chemical weapons program. I'll happily "condon???" Maher and banish him to pay tv. How about doing the same for Rush?

Let's review, the left

Let's review, the left routinely told us Reagan was a reckless cowboy and movie star, Bush was befuddled and out of touch, and his son lied. Yet when they are outraged when Clinton was called on his womanizing, and call anyone oppossed to Obama and his policies a racist. I guess the justice department will have to start investigating everyone who votes republican since anyone who votes against Obama is part of a racist conspiracy.

But buying drugs for one's

But buying drugs for one's own use does not equate a presidential bribe. That is where we differ. You seem to equate drug abuse to bribing the president. I would much rather see someone buy drugs that only harm themselves than to a bribe for presidential favors that harms the entire country. But then again, that is where we differ-same as the voting rights issue. You think voting is everyone's right and i think it is for citizens only.

Race in America....

George Zimmerman says he is not a racist. . . .but his actions speak louder than his words.

Most of you guys say it is NOT about race, yet the way you speak about the President says the opposite.

Quit lying to yourself. Be honest with you first.

If the hussein regime gives $500,000,000 to solyndra(that pays $100/hr to employees)and gives china $500,000,000 (that pays $.10/hr to workers),which has a better chance at holding market value?

“Government-created rights –

“Government-created rights – food stamps, unemployment benefits, Social Security, Medicare, card checks, global warming, green energy, cap-and-trade, artificially low interest rates, fiat currency – are lies, lies and more lies.”

Words have meaning and the writer seems to not understand the meaning of the word “lie”. In this paragraph alone he confuses entitlements, a scientific consensus, policy proposals to mitigate that the perceived (by > 97% of qualified scientists) physical phenomenon, and financial policy.

If I said “we should have food stamps because feeding the poor makes a more stable society” that is an opinion, it is not a “lie”. If I said “we should have food stamps [because without them all the poor children in America will die of starvation in 6 weeks]”, the component in brackets would be a “lie”.

If someone promulgated the claim that Obama was spending $200 million a day on his 10 day trip to India that would be a lie. [That’s a hypothetical because naturally no honest individual would transmit information without first checking its veracity; at which time they would find the number thoroughly debunked]

It is hard to take seriously a writer so challenged by plain English.
