Letter: Library sorely lacking

Lack of leadership in Aiken County is seen again with the library being without an elevator for more than a year.

Getting the elevator fixed has proven too much for our leaders to accomplish. Fixing the elevator won’t solve the issue of not being a handicap-friendly building. The power going out at the library still leaves the handicapped no way to get out of the building in case of an emergency.

The building leaks at every rain shower, and mold and mildew has to be an issue with all the leaking.

The county government complex building would not go a year without an elevator, nor with all the leaks.

The people of Aiken County need a new library, period.
