Vote Aiken Republicans

On Tuesday, Republican candidate for Aiken County Council chairman Gary Bunker stood for election.

Bunker won the Republican primary on Aug. 22. He faced two other candidates in that contest and took 55 percent of the vote, staving off a runoff.

Gary Bunker faced no challengers on the ballot Tuesday, but the new election laws required a countywide vote to affirm the Republican as the new chairman.

On Nov. 7, Aiken City Council District 6 will elect its new representative. Republican Ed Woltz won the Aug. 8 Republican primary for the seat, and faces a Democrat challenger, Joann Tillman Hooper on Nov. 7. Absentee voting is currently open for this race.

The Aiken County Republican Party encourages you to vote and to vote Republican Nov. 7! A huge thank you to all of those brave enough to run for public office. Please remember to vote!
