Letter: Setting an example

I, along with the rest of the nation, watched with bated breath the outcome of the NAACP rally in Augusta Aug. 24.

I have never been so proud than at the very end, when not one scuffle broke out. Augusta showed the rest of the nation how to do things peacefully. How to lift your voice in protest and not end up fighting each other.

Augusta showed the rest of the world how our First Amendment works.

Congratulations to Sheriff Roundtree and his deputies on a job well done. Now, if only the rest of the nation will follow Augusta’s example.
