What if roles reversed?

Clearly Confederate monuments are historical. That point is not debatable. But is it the type of history we wish to glorify?

You are glorifying traitors and terrorists. The Confederates denounced the United States Of America and took arms against it. That is treason and terrorism. Proclaiming states’ rights as the basis for their action is laughable, at best. States’ rights to own and exploit slaves would be the accurate reason. Does it disturb anyone that Confederate monument supporters are marching with Nazis? I guess it does make sense, since they both fought against America.

One contributor to this paper suggested that all black monuments be removed as a protest to the removal of the Confederate monuments. The black monuments and black colleges would not have been needed if Afro-Americans had been afforded the human dignity they deserved, being one of God’s creations.

Let’s flip the script and suppose blacks had been in charge and oppressed whites in the manner of the Confederacy. Would whites be comfortable with monuments commemorating their cruel, inhumane oppression?
