The North Korean effort is all in one direction, being able to attack the United States.
Their homes don’t have electricity much of the time and food is scarce. All they have goes to the one effort. They need bombs small enough to be delivered and missiles capable of carrying them.
It looks like the missile design is almost ready. As soon as the details get worked out they can build a number of them quickly. Nothing is stopping them.
The United States’ attention seems to be all over the place: Iran, Russia, Democrats vs. Republicans, ISIS, Mexico, health care, transgenders in the Armed Forces, turnover in the White House, etc. We can’t put together any coherent strategy when our attention is in so many different directions.
And Nero fiddled while Rome burned. If Nero had been able to Twitter and act irrational, we’d have a good match.
