Volunteering isn’t about money

Giving of your time to help others is a God-given responsibility!

Not only does it help others in need, but it leads to personal development, values, moral development and self esteem.

School students should have community service requirements as part of their curriculum requirements, not just for graduation! These are what most people who are convicted of minor crimes need to learn, and they should be part of the sentence, along with keeping their job and supporting their families!

Not being a financial burden on the over-taxed citizens of our great nations! Volunteering loses its value when monetary compensation becomes a factor! Look at how many rich people and celebrities volunteer!

It is not about money!

The opening sentence says it all.

When people on the left say, "This is the richest country in the world, there is no reason we can't have (free something or other whatever their cause) provided by the government." What they are saying is to take from the people who make the money and give it to those who don't.

The USA is the richest country in the world when it comes to volunteering.
That used to be the only way people were helped before Uncle Sam/Sugar developed  teats for the moochers to suck on.

I'm with you Dee, this country has created a lot of lazy moochers especially in the eight years that preceded Trump. Since Obama essentially bankrupted the country, we need to get a handle on all the free stuff the WORKING TAXPAYERS can no longer afford.

Responsibility and respect have eroded over the last few decades.  It became especially evident over the last 8 years.

Thankfully, there are still a majority who believe in taking responsibility for themselves while helping others who actually need help.
