What it’s all about

Would there be Christmas without Jesus?

At this time of year, with the exception of the Muslim wars, the world is caught up with the spirit of Christmas. It is the featured subject of the media, stores and every home. Christmas brings families together and renews old relationships, even with people we don’t like!

This is all great, but what is left out is the One for which Christmas is named! Like it or not, Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and without the birth of Christ there would be no Christmas!

Of course there are those who deny His existence, and try to remove His name, but there is a country called Israel that contains the historical records of the people who lived and believed the Old Testament proclamation that a Messiah would come. He came, and His name is Jesus, and those who receive Him, know this Baby who was born, came from God, and came to die in their place, on the cross.

It is uncanny to realize that this Baby whose birth we recognize this Christmas, in a few months, we will remember His death and resurrection. The birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ has been honored and celebrated for some 2,000 years!

You cannot have Christmas, or even say the word, without Christ.
