Unity makes me proud

I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder of the United States in my 43 years than right now.

I’m so proud and super happy with my country because, especially in the past few weeks, the vast majority of us have come together and said we are not putting up with racism, bigotry, sexism, militarism and vindictiveness from a prospective presidential candidate.

We do not want someone in the Oval Office who has shown no aptitude for politics and has a raging ego, and who wouldn’t care how badly it might wreck our nation, or possibly even destroy it. We completely reject a presidential candidate who believes, when he doesn’t win, the system is rigged against him, and justifies him in anything he attempts to destroy it.

Republicans, conservatives, Democrats and liberals have a lot of deep, painful differences, and tend not to get along or like one another very much. Our disagreements with one another have become so vehement, a lot of people have been saying the United States has never been more divided.

I, however, feel I see about three-quarters of eligible voters coming together of late to reject the politics of ignorance, fear and hate. It’s beginning to look a lot like the largest presidential landslide victory in our country’s history. Thus, I say we’ve actually never been more united, for all the right reasons, and I have never been prouder!
