It's all about greed

  • Follow Letters

President Obama, I see, is holding off on approving the Keystone XL pipeline construction. The pipeline would create many jobs and save people a lot of money on fuel, but it may cost the Democrats a few votes.

This is a typical American politician’s problem: Do whatever it takes to win re-election no matter what the cost. It amazes me that we keep buying oil from all these countries that are taking our money and using our money to try and end our existence. We could be using our own oil, but we are afraid we might disturb a turtle or a rabbit.

The Exxon disaster was one of the worst oil spills ever, and only after a few years most of that area was back close to normal. We don’t mind taking chances with our troops getting killed but we certainly can’t take chances on disturbing some creature’s life. All environmental problems repair themselves over time, such as Japan after the atomic bombs we dropped in World War II. We have ruined our economy by buying most of our goods from our enemy, China, and China has control over us in a big way. China is in favor of everything that we are against, and has no morals. But does our government care? Not a chance.

It’s all about money, greed and power. Just think back a few years ago, if you are old enough. We didn’t have all the luxuries that we have now, but our morals, integrity, forgiveness, loyalty, etc., were, as we can see now, heavenly.

Obama and his thug

Obama and his thug administration continues to cow down to environmentalist extremists, animal rights groups; Peta, global warming liars; all sorts of extremists groups to keep themselves in power.

The inmates are truly running the asylum. All of the doctors are locked up, laughed at, ridiculed, and mocked. There is chaos in the halls and the truly sick wackos are wondering about the courtyards of the hospital reeking havoc.

Keep your eye on the BLM. Perhaps they just might, one day, begin to start seizing private homes under eminent domain in order to introduce section 8 housing into your neighborhood.

Don't mind the broke down car in the front yard or the living room couch on the porch.

Well the oil is being shipped

Well the oil is being shipped abroad it isn't for our use is my understanding, but Obama is all interested in the environment and the pipe line is much more environmental than all the 18 wheelers shipping the oil across the states with the same risks or spills and leaving a much much larger carbon footprint. It just goes to show you Obama could care less about the environment all that is a ploy for him to take control-his greedy-both in power and has become incredibly wealthy while president.

Anyone seen the price per gal

Anyone seen the price per gal these days. Every time there a proposal to drill more oil in this country, the democraps have always balked at the idea stating that it would not have an immediate remedy to oil prices.

This sort of rhetoric can be traced all the way back to Clinton, Had he and other administrations given the ok to explore and drill in this country, the price of oil world wide would have been so low as to bankrupt the middle east and Opec.

Our country would be thriving. Think about an economy where energy prices would be a non-factor; You fill up for pennys per gal and spend what is saved on whatever you wish.

It truly is a travesty that our federal government is complacent in the extreme hardship of the family when it comes to energy prices in this country.

We could have controlled our own destiny with regards to energy of all sort, had it not bee for environmental extremist and a Federal government unwilling allow the oil to flow.

So check your wallet the next time you fill up and realize who has caused you financial grief.

"All environmental problems

I wonder if all the people that died of radiation poisoning, and all the people that had babies with serious defects- when they could have them at all- feel that way. I wonder if all the adults that developed severe health problems later in life, due to their exposure to the radiation, feel that way too.

And that includes all the American soldiers that were exposed, including my late father in law. They didn't think that it was "resolved over time", unless you consider death a resolution.

We didn't ruin our economy by

We didn't ruin our economy by buying products from China.

We ruined our economy by engaging in very expensive, useless wars, and by people buying houses, cars, and running up credit cards by buying things that they couldn't afford.

Saying a war is "useless" is

Saying a war is "useless" is purely an opinion.

Running up credit cards doesn't hurt the economy unless you don't pay your bills. As a matter of fact, if you are running up credit cards and paying the monthly bills, you are HELPING the economy. NOW....if the government makes the banks loan money to people for a mortgage that they can't pay, and it goes into foreclosure, THAT will hurt the economy.

I will ask you again today Corgi......tell us what progressive policies have helped bring anyone out of poverty?

the lte writer is right...to

the lte writer is right...to the critics that the oil is shipped abroad is a mute point...its still wealth to our country..jobs and taxes......whats better supplying the world with oil or being dependant on dictators and zealots for our oil..i long for the day when we are energy sufficient and we can jack up our wheat prices to the middle east because we dont need them anymore..maybe a wheat embargo...sounds famaliar?..let them eat their oil...and there will be more stability because the middle east wont control the world energy...its importance will diminish

But

as long as idiots are in charge and other idiots keep voting them into office, nothing will change for the better.
How do you think Obama got elected in the first place? He had a ready made majority because he is for "the people". Ha ha ha, laughing all the way to the poor house!

corgimom, I agree so why do you keep supporting the politicians that encouraged buying houses they could not afford and the ones that are running up the country's credit card debt.

How is that oil shipped now?

How is that oil shipped now? Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad cars. The railroad is charging 3 times what it would cost to move the oil by pipeline.

Who owns the majority of that railroad? Berkshire Hathaway.

Who runs Berkshire Hathaway? Warren Buffet.

Who is a big donor and supporter of Obama and the Democrats? Warren Buffet. Nothing crooked here folks, let's move on.

I have to agree with this statement! I don't believe the "AVERAGE" human knew about the great divistating harm that treamendous radiation expossure wood do to humans!! It is said that more people would have been killed if the war had have continued, BUT this is something that we will never know!

t3, BUT we do know more Americans would have been killed!! The president's job was to save American lives not the lives of people that attached us and would not stop the war.

Why would anyone even care

Why would anyone even care what happened to Japan in WWII? They did not care about us or they would not have attacked. I care now but back then--NO.
