U.S. debilitation is willful

  • Follow Letters

I am not surprised that Obama spoke of reaching the 7 million mark on Obamacare registrations on April Fool’s Day.

We have been suffering with the joke for the past five years. Our unemployment goes down even though there is little evidence that more people are working, except part time – and more are giving up completely.

The economy soon will self-destruct as billions of dollars in useless paper money is used to try to pay trillions of our debt. We suffer the joke that we have a bright future despite Christianity being mocked on a daily basis. More people are becoming poorer with higher prices fueling inflation of food, gas and clothing; taxes consume 52 percent of everyone’s wallet; and the threat lingers of terrorists infiltrating our country.

The administration will never follow the easy way to prosperity, which is lower taxes (allowing businesses and individuals to spend money the way they like); less government spending; and allowing the drilling of oil, which has made the Middle East wealthy. Why not us?

The United Nations wants to dictate that our oil companies find other means of energy. When will the madness stop? The wall of ignorance and obstinate self-admiration is obvious in the decisions that cry out, “Insanity!”

Our administration purposely is pushing us into a social and financial oblivion. We see this and still send the same harbingers of doom back to Washington. Why do we allow this to continue when we know the truth? Is this all preordained?

Maybe, but if we allow ourselves to be sheep then the shearing is coming soon. Lamb chops anyone?

karradur, If you would have looked at the graph to the right...

karradur, If you would have looked at the graph to the right you would have seen that we are on the decline while other countries are on the increase. We are now at the lowest production since the 1960's.

The production is going to increase because of what is going on with fracking and the boom in the Dakotas. Any increase in production over the last five years has been on PRIVATE land while we have DECREASED on PUBLIC lands with this administration granting few oil leases than any president in modern times.

Of course, Obama is taking credit for the increased production and the low information/no information voters take that to mean that he had a hand in that increase. The man has no shame. He is killing the coal industry, wants to kill fracking, and would shut down all oil/gas exploration and production if he could.

We could be the largest producer and exporter of oil and natural gas within 3-5 years if we had a president with the guts to open up off shore and on shore exploration. We would see an economic boom not seen since the end of WWII. Which maybe why Obama and the leftists refuse to turn lose the utilization of the natural resources God gave us.

"The third-largest

"The third-largest oil-producing country is the United States"

Yes, but that is not the issue the writer referred to. The issue is that the United Nations wants to dictate OUR carbon emissions......even though the latest information out of the National Academy of Science indicates the change in our weather patterns are caused by pollution from Asia, primarily China, affecting weather patterns in the Pacific ocean. The UN wants to regulate us but is too politically correct to attempt to regulate the ACTUAL global polluters.

Excellent letter Mr. Henning...

Excellent letter Mr. Henning.

Obama is an anathema to everything on which this country was founded. He is out to lower the prestige and capabilities of the US in relation to the rest of the world.

He does not want to lead the world as we have in the past, but wants to be accomodating and thinks any increase in our defenses would be destablizing. His Secretary of Defense recently stated that we could not expect the US to continue to have military dominance on the land, in the air, and under and on the sea.

A perfect example of our lack of support for our friends is his refusal to help Ukraine. The president of Ukraine came to him and ask for small arms to help defend themselves against the Russians and what did Obama give them? MRE's!!! I know they may not be all that great to eat but they are not bad enough to assault the Russians with.

This man is so desirous to be liked that just yesterday his Secretary of State spokeswoman said we will not give any weapons to the Ukraine because WE would then be the destablizing force. That's like seeing your friend in a pit with a rattlesnake and you don't throw him a gun because that would destablize the situation.

Furthermore, Obama is accomodating those within the US...

Furthermore, Obama is accomodating those within the US whose goal is to destroy us from within.

He has held up the Muslim Brotherhood as a friend, welcoming them to the White House, and putting some of its members in positions of authority in the Department of Homeland Security.

The Muslim Brotherhood's goal as stated in their main operational documents, to "destroy America's miserable house from within." Rather than being feted by our president this organization should be declared a terrorist organization both here and abroad. Its affiliates such as CAIR should be disbanded and their activities made illegal.

Today these groups not only take advantage of our laws but are welcomed with opened arms not only by the White House but by the FBI and elsewhere in the halls of government.

We are seeing many signs of anti-Christian bigotry in the country while bending over backwards to cow tow to Muslims. We have between 5 and 10 million Muslims in the US today and according to the Pew Research Center 21% of them think suicide bombing is acceptable and 5% have a favorable view of al Qaeda! That's 250,000-500,000 Muslims living right her in the US who are disaffectd with the US and are a large internal threat. A threat this president fails to recognize as nothing but "peace loving".

Obama has done nothing positive for the United States neither here or abroad. He has sown distrust among our allies and friends and given comfort to our enemies and adversaries.

Deaf ears

The warning came out in the 2016 documentary. But the media refuses to tell the truth to the American people. Their current M.O. is "keep the stupid and uninformed and they will belie everything we say". Just like a bunch of lemmings. This administration does not want America to succeed. And people are being brain washed.

This letter hits the right

This letter hits the right spot. For some who comment to about things being made up, are living in an alternate universe. The sad part is that such people can't come to terms with reality.

I don't know about the rest of you but I remember that when George Bush left office gas was less than 2 dollars per gallon. Look it up. It's true.

Today it is 3.45 and rising. Are you better off than you were 5 years ago?

Five years ago the stock market tanked, but there were jobs to be had. Look it up, it's true.

Today the stock market is surging and if adjusted for those not looking for a job the unemployment rate is 12.7 percent. Look it up it's true.

When Bush left office after 8 years the national debt 10.7 trillion. An increase of 5.1 trillion in 8 years. In 5 years under Obama the nation debt is 17 trillion. An increase of 6.3 trillion in 5 years. Look it up it's true.

We are laughed at by the international community; IRS scandals, 4 dead in Benghazi; NSA spying on Americans; Keystone pipeline delayed; NO JOBS, and then there is Obamacare.

Are you better off today than 5 years ago? If you say you are then you must be a low information moocher.

I agree with almost ALL of this LTE and I would like to say to the writer, "Very good job!!" However, I don't agree with the above statement about drilling for oil. If there was a lot of oil to be gotten, wouldn't the drillers for natural gas have allready found it??

Because that would constitute a detour in OzBama's grand plan to navigate the United States into his version of socialist utopia.

Free market capitalism and socialism cannot coexist. One has to die in order for the other to live.

T3, We already know where the oil is...

T3, We already know where the oil is. The federal government has put the land and the sea bed off limits to drilling. Oil is a renewable resource that we are awash in. California would get completely out of debt if it would just open back up the off shore oil rigs it has shut down.

Balls of oil wash up on the beaches because of natural seepage from the ocean floor which have nothing to do with the drilling but the wackos on the coast have scared everyone into believing it is the wells and they would ruin the coastline...something they didn't do when they were running full bore.

VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL would be rolling in revenues if off shore drilling were allowed off their coasts. Louisiana has lost tremendous revenue because of Obama's lack of drilling permits in the Gulf for US companies while he allows foreign drilling to take place in the southern Gulf of Mexico.

I just read how "scared and worried" Putin is of Obama and what he'll do--Russia has just announced that all Jews over 16 in Eastern Ukraine must register with the government and list their assets or risk deportation. There usually is only one step that follows registration and that is confiscation. Wasn't this the process instituted by a fellow in the late 30's.

What a laughing stock Obama is. What a laughing stock and mockery he is making of the US. The man is a coward.

Putin wants to reconstitute the old USSR and it is doubtful anyone is going to stop him. Next he will annex Estonia and other old Soviet satellites that are now part of NATO. Does anyone think Obama will honor Article 5 of NATO which says if one NATO country is attacked the others will come to its aid? I don't think so. He violated our promised made to Ukraine in the Brussels Memorandum in which for Ukraine disarming itself we would protect them.

I wonder what the liberal US Jews are saying now about the thug they voted for twice as he watches their fellow Jews being corralled? Most likely nothing since they do not get excited about him turning his back on Israel in favor of the Muslims.

Of course they are not saying anything. Nor will their votes change. Christians and Christianity will continue as their number one thing to run from, since their time of redemption has not yet come.

America, post-WWII boom.

Expanded employment due to new role of women in the workforce; expansion of union representation of workers; creation of American middle class through wage increases at bottom end of income spectrum; drastically lower separation between CEO and worker compensations; and some of the HIGHEST marginal AND effective income tax rates in history.

What? This isn't proof of "trickle up" economics at all. "Trickle up" economics would mean that there would be a direct link between capital expenditure and entry and mid-level wages. There is no such thing. Come on.

This level of economic ignorance is why I am such a cynic around here.

"I don't see were "trickel down economics" works."

Actually, it's the ONLY form of economics that does work. Another name for it is laissez-faire economics which loosely translated means that the government should keep it grubby hands out of things it knows nothing about.

Every time Democrats get into control, we flip over to Keynesian economics where the government attempts to micro-manage even the smallest companies.

The result is disaster. Always disaster.

Yes, some government involvement is needed. The problem is that Democrats NEVER KNOW when enough is enough!

I can and WILL argue against such simplistic and juvenile reasoning. You don't GIVE anyone anything unless you want to make them weak and subservient. For a people, or a nation to grow strong and independent, it must first become self-reliant.

Once, America was a nation of strong and free people. In recent years we have been morphing into a modern version of H.G. Well's Eloi, weak and dependent, serving only as fodder for the Morlocks, or ruling class.
