If you vote, vote smart

Elections are right around the corner. I urge everybody to register and vote. Arm yourselves with knowledge before you get to the polls. An ignorant vote is worse than no vote.

Don’t vote for a candidate because the name rings a bell or because they have good hair. Columbia County already has had some experience with con men (and women) getting elected. Some of them still are incarcerated. Let’s be on the lookout for the next con man (or woman) trying to worm into Columbia County politics.

Suppose you voted for someone and then find out later that he or she had multiple bankruptcies, or has to carry a firearm 24/7 as protection from their numerous fraud victims? In the past I have automatically voted against incumbents because I had a “throw the bums out” mentality. That won’t happen this time.

If you are going to vote, vote smart!

Smart voting

- now there's a concept! Though I wouldn't say "carrying" is a bad thing.

I would encourage everyone to ignore what any candidate "says" and look to the record.

OK, now both are gone,

come on man. Basically, this letter was a tad wee bit confusing. Is he now going to vote for all incumbents? Was he describing any particular candidate or candidates? We know that Ron Cross has several bankruptcies, takes money from developers with multiple convictions for soil and erosion violations (polluting Columbia County's water), and now, based upon his latest CCDR, has "appeared" to have violated campaign finance laws.

As for someone carrying a gun 24/7, who cares? It IS his/her right.

Unpublished

The letter says do your research and vote with some knowledge of the candidates. Something that rarely happens in the south.

Ron Cross?

So am I to assume from this letter that Mr. Sullivent is not voting for Ron Cross?

Only one way to go

If you want jobs, a better future for you and your children, strong economy, and a better education for your children, then that would mean to vote conservative! It's working in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and other red states. Economies are booming, taxes are being lowered, jobs are being created and the government is shrinking and giving back more to its citizens. People are leaving the welfare state behind and are incontrol of their own future.
