Obamacare lies persist

  • Follow Letters

Sometimes I want to ask the extremist Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives: What planet are you living on?

While our country struggles to recover from its worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, why in the world do House Republicans spend so much time trying to repeal Obamacare? While the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party was fighting with corporate Democrats to salvage as progressive a plan as possible within a conservative health-care reform bill, Republicans were busy demonizing the plan. Death panels, government takeover of health care, and throwing Grandma over the cliff were the prevailing messages from Republican politicians. The Republicans continue to promote false horror stories about Obamacare.

Opponents of Obamacare seeking repeal and using fallacies to mislead Americans into supporting repeal can only be considered sociopaths.

Daniel Johnson

Because Obama care is a bad

Because Obama care is a bad law sold to the American people with a pack of lies. You can keep your health insurance, you can keep your doctor. Obama care will decrease your premiums by an average of $2,500/ year. These are just three of Obama's oft repeated lies! There are more! Because Obama care is now crumbling because young people are avoiding it like the plaque the payer mix is such that it will add up a trillion dollars to the national Deficit. Reason enough to oppose it Mr. Johnson? It is not a conservative program, not one Republican voted for it and now even the Democrats are admitting at the minimium it needs fixing!

Please read Michelle Malkin's

Please read Michelle Malkin's column in today's papers about how Obama's lies have left her family and their health care insurance in limbo. There are 6 million other American families in Malkin's boat! Now Harry Reid got up on the Senate floor and said people like Napkin are lying and these are fabricated horror stories. Now Mr. Johnson who is being a pathological lier?

What planet are YOU living on?

Simple answer: Because it’s government control and socialist programs like Obamacare that cause economic crisises! Read a little history! Or better yet, just look south to Venezuela. The more the government controls, the worse it is for the average citizen (or subject).

That is why over 200+ years, the US grew into a nation that people from around the world aspired to come to. The "Change" you, the president and others are pushing is why it is quickly fading away.

Any more questions?

Now I'm an extremist

I'm also patriotic as I don't see this administration doing much for America except "change it". I like the way it was after WWII, a generation I am proud of and respected as did other countries, now, umm, not so much.

Gaflyboy, you took the words

Gaflyboy,
you took the words right out of my mouth. Daniel Johnson's definition of sociopaths is laughable. I haven't read a funnier piece in the LTE in a long time.

I suppose the AC has to print such a letter so the Libs. can't yell media bias. However, what the the Libs. should be yelling about is the AC printing SNL type satire and passing it off as the left's answer to right wing LTE.

If I were a lefty I would be upset and demand that the AC print something more believable than print something even the most staunch liberal couldn't swallow.

Jokes on you libs. Thanks for the laugh AC.

sociopath? oh, "why, (we) wouldn't even harm a fly..."

some of the symptoms of sociological disorders are
Specific loss of insight- such as not knowing that adding patients to
the health system, while not adding doctors, would add costs and reduce quality
Untruthfulness and insincerity- "if ya like your doctor, you can keep your doctor"
Superficial charm- "i get a thrill up my leg i get a thrill up my leg"
Lack of remorse and shame- democrats have taken over our education system and have not educated black kids well enough to flourish in the world
THREE SCHOOLS IN RICHMOND COUNTY
HAD ZERO STUDENTS PASS THE AP EXAMS LAST YEAR!
their solution? more bureaucrats in the education department, and FORCING black kids to attend bad schools
Specific loss of insight- they actually think healthy young people are going to give up their cell phones and cable tv to pay for some unhealthy old person? especially when the old person who smoked and never exercised costs the same as the old person that took care of herself? really...
hmmm... those symptoms do seem to be exhibited in a current political party...
could it be the one that caused this?
THREE SCHOOLS IN RICHMOND COUNTY
HAD ZERO STUDENTS PASS THE AP EXAMS LAST YEAR!
oh, but do go on, Norman

hmmmmm. Lies? You mean like "If you like your insurance you can keep it?" Government take over? You mean the FACT that before the ACA you could choose between hundreds of insurance plans, but because of government mandates you can now choose from three? Pretty sneaky of the liberals to say it's not a government takeover by letting private insurers sell the insurance, but when the government mandates exactly what can and can't be covered, how is it NOT being run by the government?

Pathetic

This POTUS has proven to be the most inept, incompetent, and ideology driven prez of this generation. And the (un)affordable (it has nothing to do with)healthcare act is the worst law ever passed. Americans have been hoodwinked and we are all paying the price.

Recession

In the first place, Republicans have largely given up on trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act. They'll need sixty-one votes in the Senate to get that done.

In the second place, recovery from the "worst economic crisis since the Great Depression" would have been much faster if the Obama administration had not imposed socialistic solutions. The free market is most efficient in setting economic sails right after inevitable blips along the way. In short, fascist economic policies of Clinton and Bush got us into the Great Recession. Marxist economic policies of the Obama administration are impeding the recovery.

"While our country struggles

"While our country struggles to recover from its worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, why in the world do House Republicans spend so much time trying to repeal Obamacare? "

Because Obamacare is the single largest stumbling block preventing an economic recovery. It has caused CHAOS for most businesses and they will NOT hire or expand when there is uncertainty. There is already proof positive that Obamacare has caused full time jobs to be reduced to 29 hour part time jobs and businesses refusing to expand beyond the 50 employee limit. Obamacare has also caused financial CHAOS for MIDDLE CLASS working families who are now paying HIGHER PREMIUMS, HIGHER COPAYS, and HIGHER DEDUCTIBLES.......all of which are taking money out of the economy for another WELFARE programs which, after all is said and done, has not improved anything and HAS NOT insured everyone. We will still have almost as many uninsured as we had before this CHAOS started. Obamacare has GAINED NOTHING and WE HAVE LOST EVERYTHING....including a basic premise of our freedom.

Obamacare is a DISASTER. A DISASTER for it's stated goals, a financial DISASTER, and a DISASTER for our freedom and liberty from an oppressive, intrusive government. It has ruined our health care, it has doubled in cost before it is even implemented....ALL deficit spending, and it has driven up the cost of health care for the MIDDLE CLASS with higher premiums, UNAFFORDABLE higher copays and dedcutibles, and $BILLIONS of dollars of new taxes on UNRELATED items and services...all born by the WORKING MIDDLE CLASS.

Obamacare did not hurt the rich....and it DID NOT HELP THE UNINSURED....IT ACTUALLY MADE SOME FORMERLY INSURED BECOME UNINSURED....BUT IT SLAMMED THE WORKING MIDDLE CLASS AND SMALL BUSINESSES WITH A HUGE FINANCIAL BURDEN.

Obamacare is NOT the Affordable Health Care Act. Let's call it what it really is.......the ANOTHER UNAFFORDABLE WELFARE ACT where the costs are born ENTIRELY by the WORKING MIDDLE CLASS.

There is no hope for people

There is no hope for people like Daniel. With all the facts about Obamacare out in the open he continues to blame the republicans for everything. After 6 years of Obama, the economy is still struggling to recover. Could it be Obama or is it still Bush? For some people Obama cannot be blamed for anything because he is trying.

OK Daniel tell me something

OK Daniel tell me something Bush did that Dems didn't demonize. Get real dude. But while the media may try and manipulate you the fact is millions of average Americans have spoken up about their increases in cost and cancellations. That isn't a lie I can say with impunity. Very few of the people without insurance that the law was written for have signed up-so you don't hear about a lot of folks finally getting health insurance do you? Even those folks who haven't had insurance because of pre-existing conditions now realize they can have but it is going to cost you-a lot.

Oh Danny Boy

Oh Danny boy, the Libs, the Libs are calling
From law to law, and down the mountain side
The healthcare's gone, and all the old are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must err and I be right

Chorus
And if you err, when all the sick are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say "Obamacare" for me.

Obamacare, was sposed to be my saving
But price prevents, and so I hence have died
And tho extreme, my heart knew it no haven
And those who said, were found to lied.

Chorus
And if you err, when all the sick are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say "Obamacare" for me.

It should come as no surprise

It should come as no surprise to anyone that there has been a number of right wing attacks against Obamacare. It's seems that there had been a concerted effort on several fronts in an all out Republican led war to kill and destroy the Affordable Care Act, also know as Obamacare. One has to ask if this war on Obamacare had been an intentional and coordinated effort. Republican lawmakers have voted 50 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Senator Ted Cruz( Republican- Texas far right) and his Republican colleagues shut the government down in an effort to de- fund Obamacare, but that was short- lived and Republicans walked away with their tail tucked in their butt.

The Republicans have done

The Republicans have done nothing but tarnish their reputation going after the ACA, but the law itself is imploding hence the president changing it daily such now you can keep your insurance for the next three years. Republicans should be insisting on all of the implementation of the ACA as legally mandated by Congress-because if they had by now every Dem would have been impeached. Now Dems are trying mitigate the damage of a major bleed to slowly bleeding us to death over time.

Perhaps THE ONLY GOOD THING that will come out of Obamacare is that 100% of Americans will have a chance to get health ins.. As for "the all out war" against Obamacare, believe it or not, I do see this program as being more destructive to the national debt, "And that is most certainly a point to solve!!" The LAST thing that this country needs is more programs to add to the national debt!!

As for the so called "DEATH PANELS"

These "death panels" are to legalize euthiinasia when the patient feels that this is "THE ONLY WAY" to get peace!! WHY SHOULD the government DICTATE to individuals that they must stay alive at "ALL COSTS"!! I guess that people who wish to commit suisied MUST DO IT in a painful way instead of a humanitarian way??!! There are hundereds of thousands of Americans that would commit suisied if they could do it in a humane, painless, and Dr. superficed way!! I recently had to make the decision to euthinise our cat with out my family's input. Don't you think that was "GUT WRENCHING"?? But people can deside for themselves!! I don't care how you take this, "But I would have taken our cat's place in a heart-beat, because I am grossly tired of this constant warring world cummuity that we live in today!!!!"
