With regard to Augusta Chronicle Editorial Writer Damon Cline’s Feb. 9 column about the out-of-touch Rolling Stone columnist (“Rolling Stone columnist out of touch with reality of economic freedom”):

I have to commend his perceptive analysis and his abilities in communicating it. I hope his skillful writing causes many young Americans to assess just what course our country is sailing and what is our true destination. There is much “fog” currently obscuring safe navigation.

Young people have an idealized view of our country, because they haven't yet gotten out in the world and started paying significant taxes. As they mature and wise up, their viewpoints on many things evolve.

That is why to take an article written for Rolling Stone as something worthy of an editorial is absurd. It's written for teenagers and young people, who would expect anything less?
