While we bask in the recent decision by Georgia Regents University to add “Augusta” to its signs, let us now redirect our drive and determination toward saving Augusta.
We would be very wise to do this by expecting more of ourselves, city leaders and other high officials.
We must save Augusta by turning back the status quo and not allowing our great city to be sold out to special interests. We should preserve our community by holding people accountable for their actions that ultimately diminish the quality of life of individual neighborhoods. And we should dislodge incompetent individuals out of high places.
When we do this, we will then enjoy the true preservation of our community.
