Letter: Terrorism still real threat

  • Follow Letters

Again, President Obama makes light of terrorism with regards to the upcoming Olympics in Russia. He just cannot bring himself to even utter the words “terrorist” or “radical Islamist” when the subject comes up. I supposed that when Osama bin Laden was killed, terrorism – in the mind of the president– suddenly vanished before our very eyes. So, now all that is left is “man caused disasters” and “domestic law enforcement issues.”

I guess when a dirty bomb is unleashed somewhere either here or in another country, the president might reconsider his rhetoric. No sugar-coating or changes in the wording will erase what has been and is happening around the world.

Radical Islam and terrorism go hand in hand and is very active in the world today, and it is past due time for Obama to experience a little introspection and wake up from this apparent dream he is having.

Obama is a complete fool. He is more interested in Social Justice than terrorism. If the truth was know he believes this country is getting what we deserve. Kind of like his preacher and mentor for 20 yrs. said 'chickens coming home to roost'.

Why do you suppose that is?

Why can't he address the issue of ISLAMIST terrorism? Why does he bow to the leaders of ISLAMIC nations and no others? Why does he send billions of our tax dollars to ISLAMIC nations who hate our guts? Why has he agreed to send weapons to ISLAMIC terrorists in Syria? Why did he say in his book "Dreams of My Father" that " I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction" referring to ISLAMIST immigrants from Arab countries including Pakistan and those who openly support ISLAMIST terrorism? Why were his closest friends and associates before running for President people who loathed and openly opposed America and even attacked her directly?

There IS a reason, don't you think? Or, do you think it's all coincidental and meaningless?

I don't.

Here we go again; Obama this, Obama that!

It is pathetic that some of you folks have such short memories.

Shaking Hands with Saddam Hussein - George Washington University

And then wonder why kids in public schools aren't doing better

Maybe it's the examples that are being set before them by their family, friends and neighbors.

"Shaking Hands with Saddam Hussein...

....- George Washington University"

See, this is how the liberal brain works. I post several examples of President OBama's questionable/objectionable actions during his Presidency that might lead one to question his ability (or willingness) to fight ISLAMIC terrorism.

Mr. Dahreese provides a link to a picture of a former Cabinet Officer shaking hands with a former Iraqi President TWENTY YEARS before we deposed him thereby suggesting the latter is at least as bad, or worse, than the former.

Think about that mindset. This is what your children are being taught.

The problem, Harley, is folks like you who are so easily caught into and swayed by the present ("Whatever is happening TODAY!!) that you don't remember the past and can't connect the two.

I posted this photo/article hoping there might be some spark of historical "A hah!" insight, but I was mistaken.

By the way, Hussein was a terrorist when the photo was taken.

That doesn't say much for the Reagan administration, does it?

Do you really think the rest of the world didn't get the connection of the U.S. shaking hands with a terrorist?

"The U.S. supports terrorist" as long as the terrorist don't strike in the U.S."

No, You Weren't Mistaken...

...I remember it well. Not only that, I know exactly why you posted it.

Do you know the circumstances of that handshake?

What do you claim the handshake represented?

Do you assume that handshake was more, or less, significant to the current situation in which the USA finds itself as regards ISLAMIST terrorism?

Did you read the accompanying article?

Do you know that at the time the U.S. media was carrying the 'official line' Saddam is a good ole boy, knowing full well he wasn't?

If you have the sweep of history you're claiming here, don't you find it a little hypocritical to ever support terrorist?

Who was it armed Bin Laden?

harley_52 & teaparty

Who was the POTUS that gave the go ahead to take out Osama bin Laden on 2 May, 2011?

On the use of Drones Senator Lindsey Graham speaking to the Easley Rotary Club in Easley, South Carolina about a year ago stated “We’ve killed 4,700. Sometimes you hit innocent people, and I hate that, but we’re at war, and we’ve taken out some very senior members of Al-Qaeda.”

If I'm not mistaken this number mainly falls in the time frame of the Obama presidency.

dahreese, he is president although a very bad and evil one. I find it VERY SAD that such a large majority of blacks folks will defend Obama even though he is destroying this country.

Give It A Rest, ACES

People have an extremely higher chance of being killed in a home accident than by a terrorist. Your odds are 1 in 20,000,000 of death by terrorist. Being struck by lightning is more common. Just more hyperbole from the right wing.

Let's stop this 'terrorists are everywhere" nonsense.

"But your complacency when it comes to terrorism is dangerous and irresponsible."

Does your concern include the terrorism committed by this country against other nations?

Are you even aware of that?

"Our/my" nation has a tremendous 'dark history', but our corporate media does not report on that unless the independent media reveal it first, and then the corporate media jumps in as though 'it' is the original discoverer.

Then, it puts in its own twists and turns as though all that this nation was/is trying to do is protect itself.

And complacent Americans fall for it.

dahreese, you are correct. The real terrorist here is the left that are destroying this country. The community organizer knows exactly what he is doing. It is all about what he calls Social Justice. He and many of the idiots that follow him believe the USA stole its riches from poor countries especially poor countries of color. Obama is pure evil.
