Right is still shrill

Nelson Mandela, praised by the media upon his passing, was once bad-mouthed by the conservative white establishment, including Paul Harvey, who associated him with communists. In our own country, the conservative white establishment, led by the John Birch Society, pointed to the communist-affiliated advisors of civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. America was not swayed by the far-right rhetoric and made a national holiday in remembrance of Dr. King.

Currently a new “John Birch Society” known as the Tea Party claims President Obama’s legacy will be tainted by his association with “known communists.” Seriously?

After Fox News media-blitzed this information 24/7 prior to two elections, it didn’t keep Obama out of office. America has grown numb to the constant red-flag-waving on the right.

The new Latino voters whom the GOP can’t win without all know and mostly revere Ernesto “Che” Guevara, a man who makes Bill Ayers look like Sean Hannity.

Those who can’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. I want to thank the Tea Party for making Aug. 4, Obama’s birthday, a new national holiday.
