Health care is in jeopardy

  • Follow Letters

Americans have access to the best health care in the world, but we are watching its demise. I am very worried that the hardworking middle-class taxpayers – the very people who are paying for the poor and elderly – will now not be able to seek medical care for themselves because they do not have the money left to do so.

We live in a vibrant medical community and have wonderful doctors, and I know many who give generously of their time, but they must be compensated to stay in business. Government programs do not solve the problem because the payments for cost of care are not sufficient to cover doctors’ overhead costs and make a profit to support their own families.

I can think of dozens of ways to improve the system, but these changes must be done by people who understand and listen.

I hope that in Georgia we will be smart, and that Gov. Nathan Deal, our legislators, the insurance companies, the doctors and other medical professionals – as well as taxpaying people – will meet together and make some good decisions on how to provide medical care in our state.

Medical care, like everything else, is not free. Someone is paying for it. The government has no money without taxpayers, and we have no care without doctors.

nice letter, the problem simply and accurately described

doctors, even though O describes them as greedy people
who would take out a child's tonsils rather than check for allergies,
are our best and brightest.
I too know many of them who give generously of their
time and skills
we need more of them
it is accurately described as racism when
one group of people must drink from a separate water fountain
or ride in the back of the bus, but
they still get a drink of water, and quench their thirst
they still get to ride the bus, and get where they are going
how much more racist is it when a child does not get educated
because they are black?
what do they get in place of an education? where do they go?
when Democrats feelings of love for power and teacher's unions
become less than their hatred of individual freedom,
and school choice
poor black kids will have the same opportunity to be a doctor
as rich white kids, and we will have more doctors
and health care costs will come down, and access will go up
it's just that simple

Don't forget...

This change in healthcare is just one arrow in Obama's quiver to shoot at the heart of the Founding of America and "fundamental change this country". It's about power...increasing the power of the central government and decreasing the world-power of America.

Obama is not the intelligent genius the left wants to make him out to be, but he is smart enough to implement socialistic changes by using the low information and uninformed voters as well as those who want to show they are not racists.

It's easier to fool some people than it is to convince them they are being fooled. Obama has fooled and continues to fool millions.

So many times the media and the left, pardon me for repeating

myself, ask, "Well, Republicans, what is your alternative?" This means that this monster has to be replaced with something if and when it is eliminated. Why can't we say the alternative is to do nothing and just get the government out of the way and let the free market work?

It's that way with every detrimental piece of legislative junk the left always comes up with..."What is your alternative?" There doesn't have to be one piece of junk replace another piece of junk.

Alternative?

Let's go back and fix the systems we had in place to begin with. How were they not working? Those with no insurance got covered for emergency care by the hospitals and doctors charging us higher fees, just like Wal-Mart charging higher prices to cover for shop-lifters. The ACA has nothing to do with health care. It's all about Obama's ego, power, and money.

The left rushs in to fix

The left rushs in to fix prpblems that don't exist and screwing up 4 people trying to help one . We HAD to have ethanol to help solve our dependance on " fossil" fuels and reduce imports . While developing ethanol the left worked to block American energy indepence by blocking development of known oil deposits. Well ethanol has destroyed countless internal combustion engines and screwed up American agriculture driving up food prices. Now Al Gore says it was a mistake , but were still stuck with this garbage of a law. With health care we had 70 % satisfied with their care and doing OK! In order to help 15 million people Obama and the Democrats are screwing up health care for up to 90 million people and hundreds of small businesses. Interesting interview on Fox News with a Doctor in private practice. She lost her small business insurance for her and her employees because certain requirements under Obama Care were missing . Her new insurance was so costly she could not afford an employer policy forcing her employees onto the exchange. To make matters worse she was not a provider in the insurance provided by the exchanges. Her insurance was more costly and her company's and deductibles were higher!

All those on the left that

All those on the left that scream about the obscene profits of insurance companies will love this gem in the Obama Care law. It is one of those Nancy Pelosi pass to know what's in it things. Insured patients who run up a medical bill beyond a certain amount , tax payers subsidize 70% of the cost above that amount. That's right folks we are underwriting and subsidizing the greedy insurance companies! And here you thought it was just to help the poor! LOL

"Fundamental" change to the

"Fundamental" change to the best helath care system in the world and the most free, most prosperous nation in the world was a very stupid concept to begin with. We did not need fundamental change, we needed some minor tweaks.

The "fundamental" change we are getting is fundamental raw socialism being implemented by a bungling leader and a bungling government as happens with all socialist nanny-state governments.

Who's in YOUR wallet.

What's so tragic is the left thinks it is so smart. It thinks

the only reason socialism has never worked is because no one as smart as they are was ever in charge.

Take the insurance business. While admitting problems with the website Obama said "This insurance is complicated." Didn't he realize the insurance businesses had been around over a hundred years and it had a lot of experience in what worked and what didn't? He thought the Democrats could in a couple of years completely redesign the entire health care system...and they could do it is such a smart period of time because they are so much smarter than anyone who has ever lived.

It's such a shame they have no concept of history and they are passing along this ignorance onto the current generation because the left is in charge of our education system. By the way, how's that working out for us?

What Republicans Need to Say

Doctors should be forced to post prices online. Malpractice lawyers must be restrained. Standards must be set for proving real harm. Health insurance companies could compete like Geico & Progressive if state legislators would get out of the way. Many Rx's could go over the counter.

Social Health Care Takeover
Unpublished

Nothing in the Obama Health Care Act was even remotely thought of as a way to reduce cost. Everyone knew this going in, admitting it or not. This act was about control of some of this counties brightest and hardest working, our Doctors. Socialism has to get control of the best educated in a county in order to take over, it has worked this way everywhere it has ever been tried. Nothing in the act was intended to make the US a healthier place to live. It does nothing about alcohol, tobacco or drug consumption in the US. These three things cause over half the medical costs that burden us everyday. Since Obama smokes tobacco and was and may still be a pothead, it was a lock that nothing would happed there. I just wonder who is the alcoholic in the family that shut out booze, if you listen to Nancy Pelosi, I think she may be the one.

I would agree

Judging from the alcohol consumption on that big ole plane she demanded while Speaker, or should I say, Screecher of the House.
