No thought was given to the millions of people who would try to go on the Internet to apply for the program, which has complicated the issue even further. If the Republicans and Democrats were smart, they would borrow Hillary Clinton’s “reset” button and make up a new game plan.
First of all, those in charge should start by using the alphabet. There are 26 letters in the alphabet. Those people whose last names start with the first several letters of the alphabet would be the only ones allowed to apply for the next three or so months. Then those with the next several letters would be allowed to apply over the following three months, until the process is completed. Spreading out the application time would be more orderly than everyone trying all at the same time.
Another thing I would do is remove from the law the threats of fines and punishment if you don’t comply. Our Constitution doesn’t allow governments to make up laws to force people to do anything against their will, so it’s an unlawful law. In essence, the Supreme Court justices violated the rights of the people by ignoring their mandate to interpret the law. This also would remove the need to have the IRS involved in enforcing anything.
