Stand against Democrats

  • Follow Letters

Recently President Obama and the Democrats claimed victory. What is their victory? This country owes more than $17 trillion and counting; more people are working part time or have no job at all; more people are on food stamps; and the disaster of Obamacare to the medical community and patient care continues.

If something similar happened in the private sector, a company would fire the CEO and those in charge. Yet, we keep the same politicians who promise to take from one group and give to another group – anything to get their votes that keep them in power.

We watch a few good men and women stand up against this, and they are called names, and their reputations are destroyed. When will we stand with these few good people and become worthy of all of those in our past who gave their lives to make this country great?

We watch a few good men and women stand up against this. and, and, and make fools of themselves. at least as far as a 'MAJORITY' of us look at it.... and I mean, a whole lot of those who's party affiliation is the same. every repub I know, and I know a few, think this whole affair was 'foolish'.
Former senator and Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) criticized Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for the partial government shutdown, admitting Cruz "did more harm" than good with his attempt to defund President Barack Obama's health care law.
"I think he didn't do a very good job in pointing [his objective] out," Santorum said. "It's one thing to have a goal, and another thing to have a plan to get you to that goal, and he didn't figure that out."

And now ob is granting a part of the delay the House wanted because the no bid contract to Moochels classmate's company did not work. Talk about big corporations, and this one was not even an American one.

The letter writer is preaching to the wind in complaining about "name calling." The majority of posters here have taken name calling to a level that I have never seen. I am sure when the SCOTUS appoints another Republican president we may see some venom directed at that president.
Time will tell.

49 percent of the population

49 percent of the population is now receiveing some sort of check from the federal government. Just a Obama had said he is transforming our country into an entitalment society.
There are much less people working full time and for ever three people receiving a government entitalment check one person is working to support them. In my wildest imagination, I can not believe that even leftist would think that this is ok.
The more Americans that are working full time translates into a stronger economic foundation for this country. Less people working full time and becoming part time workers, means a weakier economic foundation.
When the next recession hits and there will be one sooner or later, it will not be a recession it will be a depression. Obama's new America is a dangerous house of cards that will crumble at the slightest economic downturn, and the American economy is sluggish at best right now.

I can not see democrats thinking the direction we are headed in is acceptable, unless they are totally so unaware that they are like a deer in the headlights. Can they really be this dumb???

that trillion is just another word

conservatives know trillion is a number

The top 1% of the population

The top 1% of the population has received 95% of the income growth from 2009-2012. Thanks to Republican tax and employment policy we're becoming a feudal society. A ultra wealthy 1% and a nation of serfs who work for a ridiculously low minimum wage, or slightly above, with no rights under the total misnomer of "right to work". Most jobs, that used to be decent paying, they've shipped overseas, where they can pay pennies on the dollar with no worker safety, no environmental regulation, and in many cases just use forced labor and the "employees" are literally locked in the factories. No worries though, the stocks are at record levels, and executive salaries are at record levels, they just have no desire to have a country where their employees are well paid and we again have a strong middle class. They might have to settle for $2million or $3million dollar a year salaries instead of $20million. Greed has destroyed America, hand in hand with GOP policies that have allowed and encouraged it starting with the "Me Generation" under Reagan. It continues today. Too many don't look at the US as a nation of people who are in the same boat working together. They look at it as a what can I get for me and to heck with everyone else. I'll get all I can no matter who I have to step on, cheat, steal from, kill, whatever, to get them out of my way so I can get mine. Such a great patriotic attitude. It's not a "I love my country." attitude. It's a "I love me." attitude.

That is because of crony capitalism. The wealth growth is the result of government subsidies to the uber-rich. Obama's friends, Frank's friends, Dodd's friends, Schumer's friends — they are making out like bandits.

It all very simple:

Democrats don't think people can be trusted to govern themselves and must be taken care of by a strong central government.

Conservatives believe in free market capitalism, individual freedom, lower taxes, smaller government, and helping only those who cannot help themselves.

The top 1% have gained in wealth because they have the ability

and flexibility to move their money and investments around. The Obama administrations's artificial depression of interest rates whereby bond and savings accounts are paying below inflation rates are poor investment have caused the growth in the stock market.

Some have gotten rich because of the administration's crony capitalism of investments in green industries and stimulus projects that cost the taxpayer money but most of them did it because of their abilities to take advantage of the landscape as created by poor government economic policies.

By the way, the top 1% make 19% of the income and pay over 50% of the tax burden for the country. One can envy the wealthy all one wants but think of all that would not get done without the taxes paid by the wealthy and the money they spend on charities and philanthropic endeavors. And, it's their money and not other people's money they have confiscated at the threat of the IRS's wrath as is done by the statists.

Problem is Bod those wealthy

Problem is Bod those wealthy making millions are never targeted by Rep or Dems. The dems are not distributing wealth-the wealthy are even wealthier under Obama as you pointed out 09-12, but income redistribution. Which isn't the same thing. The are taxing and punishing those who make over 94 K and the millionaires still keep their abundant wealth. Even Obama has increased his wealth over %400 which he like all Congress take advantage of legal inside trading and other immoral practices. Obama will do nothing to alter the wealth of the Koch brothers, Soros, Buffet, etc.

It's time to impeach Obama

It's time to impeach Obama for incompetence. He didn't know about Benghazi, IRS scandal, spying on our friends, etc. What does he know? It's pathetic he needs to removed for NOT doing his job and being a knowledgable president. Not someone who knows nothing just for plausible deniability.

Normally I jump on the Democrat Blame Band Wagon.

But Government should never have been allowed to become
a National Social worker or a National Insurer in the 1st place.

Too others on both sides allowed this mess to happen.
Remember a Republican from a Mid West state got about $400Million added to his states Medicare budget just to vote for and pass the
Obamacare act.

We might all agree Government never comes close at accomplishing anything near cost effective success or delivering the apple pie in the sky they promise to pass something.

This ill thought out idea, is yet another example.
This Law/Tax has caused such a chain reaction of events, that it has screwed up 10x's more than what they tried to fix and should never stuck their noses into to begin with.

"The Obama administration has been accused of cronyism after it was revealed Michelle Obama's Princeton classmate is an executive at the company contracted to build the beleaguered Obamacare website.
Toni Townes-Whitley is senior vice president at CGI Federal, the U.S. arm of a Canadian company which won the no-bid contract for the problem-plagued website.
Townes-Whitley, from the Princeton class of ’85, and Michelle Obama are members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.
Earlier this month, Washington Examiner reported the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid handed CGI Obamacare account without putting the contract out to competitive tender.
It has since been revealed four companies submitted bids, but only CGI was considered for the $93 million Healthcare.gov contract.

As if the headline Obamacare Website Company Had Ties to Obama Fundraising, Michelle Obama story at News Max wasn’t enough corruption for one day, now we find this same company, CGI Federal is in the Hurricane Sandy money give-away to the tune of $1.7 Billion. The only thing is they have only given out 1.2 percent of the funds. First the drill about Mooch and her best bud.
Toni Townes-Whitley, a senior vice president at CGI Federal, is a Princeton classmate of First Lady Michelle Obama, the Daily Caller reported. In addition to being college classmates, both Obama and Townes-Whitley are members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.
Close access to the White House was also enjoyed by other senior CGI officials, reports The Washington Examiner.
The Examiner reported that visitor logs show that “CGI Federal President Donna Ryan visited the White House six times prior to her company being selected to do the IT design work behind the high-profile website.”

- quoting Rick Santorum to bolster his/her point. WOW.

I think Rick is a good fellow, but he was a senator for a little too long. If you're going to spend years and years on the leper island, there's a pretty good chance you'll catch leprosy.

The history of senators being good leaders are "p" poor. As my Grandma used to say "they've been rurnt!"

Some of the worst presidents in history were senators - Wilson and Obama just to name two. Ole' Ted hasn't been there quite long enough to get "rurnt", but if he stays too long he's bond to catch leprosy.

"The top 1% of the population

"The top 1% of the population has received 95% of the income growth from 2009-2012."

And that is true even in communist countries. There are always the 1%, just like there are always the "poor". Our poor are better off than the middle class in many countries. Unfortunately, the Democrats think you can help the poor by destroying the middle class. They always claim they are going after the 1% but historically they NEVER touch them but instead hurt the middle class. So stop with the 1%. They are there and they will always be there even if the rest of us are forced on to communal farms. Show me where you mantra singing Democrats have ever touched the 1% and I will counter by showing you Obamacare and payroll tax increases.

I'm sick of hearing about the 1%. Not one of them has forcibly reached in my pocket and took money from me like the Democrats.

There are many points in your post that I honestly agree with. The problem I have with it, is the obvious political bias!! You espouse the democrats as being the saviors of the poor, and nothing could be farther from the truth!! The democrats have done NOTHING to help the poor; absolutely NOTHING!! To the democrats, the poor are nothing but political tools or better yet, weapons. Weapons of mass destruction at that!! If you CLAIM to be for the poor, who in their right mind would stand against you?

There are MANY truths in your comment about the rich; but you do your argument no favors by adding the political bias in there!! As a matter of fact, to any person utilizing common sense, it negates your entire comment to act as if democrats are the champions of the poor!! Politicians at EVERY level, whether republican or democrat, look out for the rich!! From small city counsels to county commissions to federal government, they ALL look out for the rich!!
