Shelter event successful

Many thanks to Augusta Animal Services for its Family Fun Day on Sept. 28.

It was the first time I visited the new facility, and I was impressed with the professional and compassionate attitude of the staff and many volunteers. The local animal rescue groups also were well-represented.

I called later to adopt a poodle that I walked, but he already was adopted by another family – as were 29 others! This speaks well for the shelter and the event. Well done!
