America deserves better

One week after World War II veterans were denied access to the U.S. National World War II Memorial on the National Mall, Democrats had an immigration rally on those very grounds. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi thanked President Obama for allowing the rally. It is obvious that Obama and Pelosi and their like have little regard for our veterans.

But this is nothing new. On Memorial Day 2012, Vietnam veterans were not allowed to lay wreaths at the memorial in honor of fallen soldiers. The reason? Obama was there to make a speech, and the area was closed to everyone except people with special passes. Thousands of veterans were gathered with wreaths to recognize our fallen soldiers, but were turned away so a politician could give a speech. When presidents Reagan, George H.W. Bush and even Clinton spoke on Memorial Day, our veterans were welcome to attend.

I think our country is being led by Marxists and communists, and I’d bet that many of them spat on our soldiers when they returned from Vietnam.

I am very ashamed to have a president who has such little regard for our veterans – but then what can we expect from someone who seems to hate everything this country was founded on?

It's obvious to the most casual observer that Obama

has no respect for the military. They are just pawns in his game of bring America down to the size he thinks is "fair" to the rest of the world. Just look at the cuts he has made to the military...which is now a hollow force and could not repeat fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq simultaneously as we did before much less fight a two front war against a strong enemy.

He has done not one thing to enhance military capability. His decision to allow gays in the military has cause lower morale and many to retire or leave the service earlier than they would have otherwise.

The person, (name withheld

The person, (name withheld because it makes me sick to say it or write it), that is occupying our beloved White house has demonstrated what it is like to have a communist dictator running this country.
He usurps our constitution for his own goals.
His gestopo leader, Eric Holder, uses the power of his office, along with that of the IRS, to harrass and intimidate people of opposing views.
His propaganda minister, Jay Carney, spews out miss-information and uses diversion tatics to confuse and mislead the American people.
And then we have Harry Reid and Nancy Polosi, his fateful lieutenants, marching in lockstep to the beat of this man-child's drum.
In my memory, I have never read or experienced such an administration that is attempting a coup of this country and it is very frightening.
This administration has stockpiled millions of rounds of bullits and has hired thousands of additional IRS agents and well as EPA personal. He is building his own SS police force to use against the American people. And the American people are either brainwashed or unwilling to admit the obvious.

high crimes and misdemeanors

against common decency
it's a spit in the face of all America
"...misconduct peculiar to officials, such as perjury of oath, abuse of authority (IRS scandal), bribery (health care exemptions, unions, etc), intimidation (IRS again), misuse of assets (coal and the keystone pipeline), failure to supervise (utter disrespect for our dead soldiers), dereliction of duty (utter disrespect for our dead soldiers), conduct unbecoming (utter disrespect for our dead soldiers), and refusal to obey a lawful order."
and there are far too many others

Even liberals can see things fairly. I agree with this statement very much. The mall should ALWAYS be open to all Americans!!

By the way, did one of the commenters write this LTE?? Cushman SOUNDS VERY familier!

Do not be afraid...

Politics is like a pendulum. It will swing back, and when it does there will be a massive overhaul. Keep fighting for our values. Don't buckle under pressure.

Gary, you're right that it's like a pendulum.

The problem now is the pendulum has swung so far and so high to the left that the rope has gone slack before it starts back to the right.

An actual communist might be an improvement,

because then we'd have someone at least trying to appear egalitarian in practice. This administration's actions have been anything but, and if Republicans want to turn things around, they'll need to come up with people who don't alienate even more voters, which is why the party has performed so badly in the last few cycles.

HOW TRUE!! At this point, The Republicans probably think that a "hard liner" will be the best candidates to run in 2014 and 16. However, IF OBAMACARE is even a small sucess, then you all better choise moderates for candidates.

The vile hatred that this President shows to the people he is supposed to represent is disgusting. He spends extra money to post guards to prevent people from seeing monuments that are normally unmanned, out of pure spite. He refuses to give working Americans the same deal that he gave corporations and congress with the ACA.....yet his acolytes keep singing praises to him. I don't understand how they can not see his hatred.

WOW....When you start your daily comments, you really start out with a bang!

I personally think the term "HATE" is a little tad too much. As for your comment about keeping citizens from monuments and parks, I could not agree more!! I also agree about treating big businesses and unions much more differently than "the little guy". I would suggest that he PUT THE FULL law into effect at the same time!

It is called modern day politics, NO HATRED involved. Another commenter suggested that ALL of this may be purposefull in order to shock Americans into the bad reality of our national debt and gov. spending. You don't put any possible blame on that?

No....it is at the President's descretion as to what closes and what doesn't....he chooses to keep the congressional gym open (which costs money) and chooses to spend EXTRA money to block off the shoulder of the road where people pull over to look at Mt Rushmore (which would cost NOTHING to NOT block off). This is the most hateful President we have ever had. He CHOOSES to hurt Americans, when he absolutely does not have to.

What would motivate the President to send in his stormtroopers to evict people from their homes on Lake Mead, when leaving them there would cost the taxpayers NOTHING? What would motivate him? Hatred, that's what. Funny that he thinks they have to be evicted because the houses are on federal land, yet I haven't seen him packing the bags for him and his family. Let them eat cake.

BLAMING it on the shut down is what the President does best......He is a world class "blamer." He NEVER takes responsibility for anything. Never has. Closing the parks was HIS idea, and HIS decision. The Shutdown just gave him something to blame it on. Remember, this is the man who said Republicans are the "enemy" and should be punished.
