Bill Cosby is a treasure

Oh, how I would have enjoyed seeing Bill Cosby as he spoke at Paine College on Aug. 11.

He always has been such a fine man – family-oriented, clean jokes – and the way he would look at his kids on his TV series when they would misbehave, you knew he meant business. He has been such an inspiration to countless people, young and old alike. Never did he have an off-color joke or an innuendo.

I have admired him for decades – a great man, humble, straightforward and just an all-around good person.

It's a shame that this fine man has been vilified by many in the black community for speaking what many feel is true. That the road to success is paved with hard work and education. It's a shame there aren't more Bill Cosby's speaking out to us all.
