I am responding to Jeff Miller’s letter regarding “Science is mankind’s savior” (Aug. 21) with just one Bible verse – Psalm 53:1:

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.”

Amen Ben

Good Word. Some men think everything has a creator except the ground he stands on, the air he breathes and the sky he sees.

Jeremiah 17:5 "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD."

Anyone who would trust in mankind, to be their savior; is a fool!!

Luke 19:27 - "But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them - bring them here and kill them in front of me." Yea, now there's a book I would base my life on.

If people don't want to

If people don't want to believe in Christianity, let them.

We all know of people that finally, as adults, accept Christ into their hearts and lives.

But when I read letters and comments like those above, I think, "Why would anybody think Christianity is a good thing, when they read things like that?"

I'm giving you a thumbs up on this one, although not for the reasons you might think.

If you click on Bennie Harbin's name for his hyper-link, you'll see 5 "letter titles" pop up. In 2 of them, you can see that he's tells you he's a conservative and 1 letter is another regarding religion. A conservative with a religious bent - I never would have seen that one coming.

Jeff Miller's letter

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Jeff Millers in the world. They are best described in Romans 1:22 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools." The great divide in our society today is between those who worship the creator, God and His understanding, and those who worship the creation, man's understanding. The latter part of Romans 1 pretty well nails it for me.

Clearily Defined.

There are some terms that are clearily defined and leave no room for further interpretation. This is one.

Who made the mountains, who made the sea, who made the rivers to flow out to the sea,, and who made the birds to fly? Truly, somebody bigger than you and I. It was the psalmist who reminds us:

"The heavens declare the glory of God. The skies proclaim the work of His hands". (Psalms 19:1NKJV).

Mr. Harbin, blessings to you for standing up for the truth. No doubt, the angels are smiling. We must work while it is day, spreading the word of God as we travel along life's highway .

Keeping in mind that the race is not given to the swift, but to those who endure until the end.

Thanks, again.
