U.S. influence diminishing

  • Follow Letters

The list below is an example of President Obama’s picks of policy makers both past and present. It is a mixture of dubious characters totally unsuited for the task of handling domestic and foreign affairs.

• Timothy Geithner, former secretary of the Treasury. He was the principal economic advisor to the president in his first term, and played a critical role in policy-making. Yet, he failed to pay his own taxes.

• Ben Bernanke, current chairman of the Federal Reserve. As we speak, he is pumping $88 billion a month into the U.S. banking system, which is responsible for the current Wall Street run-up. However, when he turns the money faucet off, stocks will bottom out.

• Eric Holder, U.S. attorney general. Can you say Fast and Furious, investigating reporters, immigration enforcement or the lack of, etc.?

• Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who authorized the rescue of the Benghazi embassy personnel. Oh right, that did not happen. After moving on, she was replaced by John Kerry, who by all standards is another impotent statesman. I am sure he will enjoy adding “failed Middle East peace talks” to his résumé.

We now turn our attention to the leader of this band of misfits, President Obama himself. We can start with his failed $800 billion stimulus; excessive spending; anti-business regulations; his failed green energy initiatives; his continued war on domestic coal and oil production; his war on conservatives; the Internal Revenue Service scandal; the National Security Agency scandal; the Edward Snowden affair; and his failed foreign policies. These are all hallmarks of his presidency.

And let’s not forget Obamacare, a direct economic assault on the American people. Combine all this, and it is no wonder that the influence once enjoyed by the United States has diminished considerably in recent times.

As our influence in the world diminishes, those dark forces that were once held in check by our might will grow and spread. They are getting stronger because of the projection of weakness, and we are turning a blind eye to reality. This reality is serious, and if we continue to follow the path we are on, with respect to the economic and foreign policies laid out by this administration, the United States one day will become a backwater country with a wrecked economy, and will be looked upon by the new superpowers as a weak Third World nation, unworthy of respect.

good letter; easy solution

A nation with the freedom we have can only survive if ran by moral people. Only vote for Christian leaders and things will turn around. The present leaders are like the people who voted them in. By voting for promoters of the killing of the unborn and the celebration of sexual sin this is what you get. You don't fix spiritual and moral problems with natural means. You fix them by a heart change. Man can say or do what he will but he can't stop God's law of sowing and reaping. Change the crop being sowed and the reaping will become different. The good news is that any individual who chooses a relationship with Christ will be under His protection and will stand in peace and joy while thousands fall by their side.

Why Listen To Us

Who exactly are we trying to influence? Why listen to a country that cannot even show respect for one another? You have to walk the walk before you can go around telling everyone how to live. What do you call it when 911 happen? That and everything that followed illustrated where this world is headed. No matter who is driving this training, others will always differ from the US and look the other way at our polices and way of life.

So what do we do about it?

Ther are millions of us who are NOT turning a blind eye to reality. This is our country, and we will get it back. For a few years I was ashamed to be an American and embarrassed to see what the rest of the world thought of us. No longer! I love my country, and I believe she will once again stand tall and proud. The only embarrasment I feel today is that Congress doesn't have the (you know what) to do anything about this.

The course was set by obama when the first thing he did was

go on an apology tour where he gave speeches about how badly America had treated other countries and how things were going to be different since he was now in office. He told the Muslims how he understood them because he was raised as one of them.

Every leader in the world saw that a weak horse had been elected president of the US and countries follow only strong horses. Leaders like Putin laughed at obama. Our foreign policy and influence are in shambles.

The respect for the US is the lowest it has ever been. Countries respect countries who project power and not the weakness which obama has done.

Like many from a broken home obama wanted to be liked rather than respected. Combine that with his leftist upbringing and you have the worst president in our history.

A few missed points

Geithner: President of NY Fed and author of massive Wall Street bailout under BUSH administration.

Bernanke: Began as Chairman of Fed in 2006 under BUSH administration. He was nominated to an additional term by Obama.

Holder: Fast and Furious? The ATF and DEA obviously didn't learn from Operation Wide Receiver from the BUSH administration.

Clinton: Rescue at Benghazi? Since there was no one who could get to Benghazi, sure. Make the impossible happen?

Larry, why isn't there already peace in the Middle East? The Obama administration comes after numerous Republican ones, including that of the Lord and Savior Ronald (Quick, invade Grenada. Let's sell weapons to our enemies and send the money to a bunch of guys who rape and kill nuns. The right wing won't call me the traitor that I am and hate me. They'll save that for the black guy. They'll worship me and name streets after me.) Reagan. We should be showered with flowers and candy any time we set foot in the Middle East. It'll all be easy breezy. What happened?

Russia is laughing at the clown we have in the WH. But then a community organizer does not necessarily make a good president. The reason the left is so upset about the rodeo clown is because it FITS SO WELL.

Yea, let's elect just "Christian" leaders. Like, let's say Sarah Palin, Ric Perry, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, etc. Yea, sounds like another brilliant idea. Yea, great idea. I mean, Slick Ric Perry then can have another one of those Day of Fasting and Prayer for our Nations Challenges when he gets sworn in - and we've all seen how well that's worked since that utter stupidity was pulled over on people two years ago.
Let me quote well-known sci-fi writer Robert A. Heinlein: "It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so." Yea, just what we need - people telling others the Earth is 6,000 years old, we are not apes, evolution is not true, and we're in the end times. Heck, we've been in the end times since the beginning of time so just give me a specific date, will you? YA'LL CRAZY !!!!!!!

No thank you, soldout.

I'm sick of candidates who advertise their faith in the irrational, and their adherence to "family values," only to prove that they're either lying about it (Mark Sanford) or have questionable faculty (Paul Broun). The last thing we need is more guys like that deciding life and death matters for the rest of the world.

Personally, I welcome a multipolar world. Let the BRICS nations grow their economies and their influence, so we won't have to spend so damn much money trying to rule the whole planet as our empire.

We look like fools in the eyes of the world

But it didn't just start imo....this has been happening for awhile....we put money in the wrong programs...we uphold freebies for non workers...we dig money bending holes at SRP & then cover them up...sometimes we can't find our behind with a flash light shining on it.... if we really KNEW the amount of money we waste everyday we would probably faint!

Warm and Fuzzy Numbers

Bush's numbers were bad, national debt, 6.1 trillion to 11.9 trillion in 8 years. However, Obama numbers are equally bad. 11.9 trillion to 16.7 in 4.5 years. At the end of bush's term Gas was 1.93 per gal. Presently it is 3.20 per gal. All things equal, Bush was a bitter pill. But Obama is a poison pill. Both are hard to swallow but one of them is lethal.

There goes the great and uninformed Bod,

with his scatter-shot, limitless and misdirected cherry picking again.

All his examples are ludicrous, but I really like it when he gets really silly by comparing a responsible, tightly controlled and limited plan like "Wide Receiver" to "Fast and Furious". Sort of like throwing a pebble into a pond to setting off a nuke in the same shallow waters.

People are STILL DYING due to the recklessness of Fast and Furious. (One in just the last few days.) No one died as a result of Wide Receiver. But we can't allow the truth to become the enemy of the great socialist utopia can we?

The facts just have no effect on some people when those realities get in the way of "The Dream".

"Only vote for Christian leaders and things

Sorry, not gonna happen. I will never vote for a "Christian Leader". l don't want to see anyone attempt to turn the United States into a theocracy.

On the other hand, I will happily vote for a man (or woman) who espouses Christian principles, as long as there is NO attempt to codify those principles into law or national policy.

Perhaps that is what you meant.

Bod,
Would it not be logical to say that if you like what Obama and his administration is doing, including the personal hold overs from the bush administration, then it stands to reason that you must have enjoyed Mr. Bush and his administratiom's antics. And Bod. please site where Mr. Rodgers ever supported the Bush adminisration. I can't remember any comments of his support of the past administration. Perhaps you have other information.

u say i say

pretty impressive group to me.. especially if you look at the FACTS of where our country is today, against a backdrop of where we were when this President took office. I don't know about all of you, but I have seen this economy IMPROVE. I have seen a government that HAS protected its citizens, at times in ways we may disagree with, but by the same token, WE have been safe here in the homeland. One's failure to control outcomes as they see fit has caused the puerile citizenry to attack that which they want so badly to CONTROL, and this loss of control of the 'agenda' only makes them more veracious in their quest for power and control. Honest critic vs Prejudice.

Impressive Group.....really.....

Faithson,

Not to remove blame from "Rinos" such as Mr. Bush, but what we are witnessing are the replacing of the second string team of Mr. Bush and his administration, with that of a third or forth string team of Obama's administration. You would have to be blind not to see Mr. Bush's "go along with the Dem. Policies" as the reason for such a decline in our economic structure. However, Obama's Shananagans stand out so clearly that it would be equally disingenuous to support this administration's doings. And as such, your proclivity to describe this group as "impressive" betrays your sense of an unbiased observation.

As for Obama's

As for Obama's leadership......Obama has not picked a winner......person or policy......since Solyndra. He has proven himself to be totally incompetent at everything except violating the Constitution....which he does with regularity.

His delay of the provisions of Obamacare...they law that HE signed...and his exempting Congress.....which is specifically spelled out the that law that Congress CANNOT BE EXEMPTED.......should be cause to impeach Obama and remove him from office.

Obama should not have been made out to be a rodeo clown.....he is more of an evil dictatorial Satan. That mask would have been more appropriate. There is nothing funny about being ruled by a dictator who feels he is not subject to the laws of the land....even the ones he signs.
