Hypocrisy fans animosity

The outcome of the George Zimmerman trial was the result of our justice system. But because the results were not desired by some on the left and by race-baiting people such as the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, it becomes an injustice. I’d bet their idea of justice is Zimmerman hanging from a tree. Some people on the left and people such as Jackson and Sharpton still think America has the atmosphere of 1963 Mississippi.

When President Obama (actually a biracial person) was elected, I heard that race relations were supposed to heal and things were going to be vastly improved. But let’s see – we have charlatans such as Sharpton and Jackson who feed on racial tensions, saying there was no justice in the Zimmerman verdict, but remain relatively quiet when blacks kill blacks in Chicago. Where is the justice for the slain in Chicago? What about the civil rights of the slain citizens in Chicago?

We have liberal media that also feed on racial tensions and race-baiting. We also have brainless athletes and celebrities making idiotic statements on Twitter.

Race issues will never improve while the hypocrisy persists among the media; irrelevant charlatans; and brain-dead celebrities and athletes.

People who are honest and have common sense know this to be true.

George J. Weber

Another example:

Protesters say that George Zimmerman took the law into his own hands. Then THEY want to do the same, and somehow, that would be "right".

I am amazed that so many do not understand that WE saw NO evidence. Evidence is ONLY that set of facts, explanations and objects shown to the JURY.

The complaint is made that there were no black jurors. Excuse me: George Zimmerman was on trial. The jury is to be of HIS peers - and they were selected with the full cooperation of the prosecution.

The Attorney General now wants to strike down "stand your ground" laws, saying that we have the DUTY TO RUN AWAY from an attacker. He is 100% consistent: in this case, Florida African-Americans benefit disproportionally from existing law allowing self-defense so defined. His stance on gun control is equally ironic, effectively backing the ideas once held by people who thought he should be their property.

SO entrenched is the entitlement class that they can be played like a fiddle. Now they insist that "what they want" should equal "justice".

holder{AG} said a few years

holder{AG} said a few years ago we where afraid as americans to have an honest dialogue on race in america...well, everytime an issue comes up remotely or entirely related to race..if you offer a different view than the PC view you are a rascist..just look at the zimmermam trial**the libs had to make up a new category of defining race to make it a race issue...when in fact it had nothing to do with race..especially us bad old true whities...the only true racist are those who believe that skin color is the sole criteria not the content of the person in judging the abilities of someone..the true racist are those who demand special treatment for a minority, insisting that he/she needs a lib to help and for some unknown reason as they are not capable of doing for themselves....what arrogance..a racist always knows what best for everyone...a lib always knows what is best for everyone...draw the connection..we conservative believe in the individual..

I sincerely believe the divide between the races is greater

now as a result of the actions of obama and his administration. I can't believe how many thought that race relations would improve if this liberal, leftist, community agitator was elected! If people would have looked at his background and not been consumed by ''white guilt" they would have seen him for what he is.

Holder is nothing more than an obama clone. People say, ''obama doesn't know that so-and-so is doing such-and-such". Folks, he know exactly what the people of his administration are doing because they have the same "America is bad. Let's change it" philosophy he does. Just look at his appointments and their backgrounds. They are all leftists.

Straight from Jesse Jackson

HERBERT (12/12/93): Jesse Jackson is traveling the country with a tough anti-crime message that he is delivering to inner-city youngsters. In Chicago he said, "There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery—then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved."

Sooooo yathink ole Zimmerman might feel the same way..

Well Jesse it is painful to us too

What happened in Florida is the tip of the iceberg....it will happen again.....many are just sick & tired of young punks(all colors) running free with no thought of punishment....the police can't be everywhere...but with constant breakins---muggings--etc.....& this happens in so-called nice neighborhoods....time bomb is ticking..

You forget too every time when a racial issue has arisen he has always first supported the black. Obama has admitted his "race" issues in his books.

There are no races. We find

There are no races. We find even Obama's wife has white ancestors. All Europeans are a mix of genes from numerous Empires and conquest like the Persian, Roman, or Mongol. The human genome project supports we are but one race-the human one. We haven't had enough time or restricted gene flow to generate a race through evolution. Now that doesn't mean there aren't differences in populations but these don't correlate with a "race" nor skin color. Dems always lament Rep are anti-science but I believe the reverse is true for this issue because they ignore the science and propagate this belief in races. Have you ever noted Hispanics range in every skin color. If your assumption is there is a "race" then from then on you will produce nothing but racist ideology.

Obummer, Holder and the MSM toadies all want the same thing:

For the United States to look like Europe. They genuinely approve of a legal system where a person who kills a knife-wielding home invader with a legally-owned firearm is put on trial for murder. True story, from not-so-Great Britain.

I think not. And if the black community wants the perceptions to change, they need to start refusing to live as government dependents. Choosing to trade away a man's dignity and prerogative to be the head of his own family for the degradation of mooching off productive citizens is what led to this mess in the first place. If men are prevented from taking their normal, natural place in their families and in society, by golly, they will pursue respect and a sense of dignity in some other way. That is not speculation but absolute, observable fact.

Aid to Families with Dependent Children (the former AFDC, or "Welfare") cut the legs out from under men who should have been heading up their poor families. Welfare legislation didn't help their families by giving them a way to earn a decent living even though the intent was there. Rather, it destroyed family stability and continuity by forcing men out of their own families' homes. It institutionalized weak commitment between men and women and caused promiscuity and illegitimacy to skyrocket, all as a means to get more money from the government to improve the standard of living without having to work and sacrifice for it.

For welfare to have worked as it was legislated/intended, the amount of the monthly check should have been tied to demonstrating the will to move forward and join society as a responsible citizen. There should have been stepwise requirements for stepwise rewards. Doing things such as participation and completion of training programs and basic standards for school attendance and academic performance by the children being supported should have been the minimum requirement. Outstanding performance, community service, conspicuous achievements that honor the taxpayers' generosity all should have been brought tangible rewards, like monetary bonuses or huge scholarships. And truancy, any conviction for a felony or misdemeanor more serious than a speeding ticket by anyone in the family, any proof of illegal drug use, and the benefits drop into the toilet.

Had that been the set up, I suspect fathers and mothers would have made sure their sons and daughters knew what was expected of them and would have monitored their academic progress, their extracurricular activities and, especially, their friends.

All that is exactly what responsible parents do normally, regardless of their race. Young men and women who haven't had the benefit of that kind of upbringing and formation can be taught at least as easily as they can be taught how to be a member of a gang or how to care for a baby alone. There simply has to be the will to do it within a community, in a state, by the nation as a whole. It's the only way we're going to rescue these young people, especially the young men. We've got to offer them the chance to be men of respect who add to the lives around them instead of men of "respect" who destroy lives around them.

I don't know if it is institutionally possible to retrieve the young men who have been formed and lost in the welfare culture. They seem to be sucked into gangs more and more, often despite the sincere and concerted effort on the part of their mothers and families to prevent that. I have heard many stories about the relentless persecution endured--and sometimes not survived--by boys who try to escape the welfare and gang life. It's like a bucket of crabs.

Re-doing welfare so that it isn't automatic for popping out a kiddo might be really painful, but it's clear that is is a black hole for a huge swath of our citizens. The idea of adding even more people to it is terrifying.

I appreciate commenters

I appreciate commenters positions and can agree to some extent. But we should also say that regardless of percentages that in absolute numbers more whites are on welfare and have abortions. All gangs aren't black either-Hell's Angels for example or Hispanic or Asian gangs. I don't see this as a "Black" issue but an American issue and tragedy. The color of skin has nothing to do with it. We have issues for sure but bringing "race" into it isn't productive. We already have laws trying to end this fixation on race but it appears has done nothing to ease folks concerns. Let's attack "violent gangs" rather any particular ethnicity. Let's get everyone off of welfare-if we just eliminated blacks then it would be a small drop in the bucket. Race is a side issue and since the whole notion is a myth then what a waste of time on a non-existent concept.

Bizkit, I think you are right as to the sheer numbers; but, it

would be interesting to see the data on that. I'm pretty sure percentage wise as far as per the population there is a larger percentage of blacks and Hispanics in gangs than there are whites.

Could it be that more blacks and Hispanics are joining gangs because they are looking for a "family" and discipline which they are missing at home as a result of the philosophy articulated by Fiat Lux?

Good point Dee. I'll do some

Good point Dee. I'll do some investigatin' later. Absolute and percentages can be deceiving at times-like statistics and a ecological fallacy. I think popular TV depicts gangs as mostly black and Hispanic but the Hell's Angels is a huge organization (I have some old friends who joined up-yeah part of my seedy past) and the Mafia is considered a "gang" in Wikipedia "Gangs in the US"

Well I will be the first to

Well I will be the first to admit that some posits posters have made over the years have really got me thinking and changed my views-yeah I'm like Obama and evolving too. I often struggle with my own personal opinions and beliefs and what I think is best for all in America-ie what's best for me isn't always best for all Americans. I think Americans really need to put their own interest aside and come together-because past history has demonstrated when we do come together we can accomplish anything.

Real Fact of Life

In as much as most of us would not like to face it, reaping and sowing is a real fact of life. What goes around really does come around....one way or the other. So far as that comment goes about pastors sharpton and Jackson and the "hanging from the tree', I do not believe that implication even though "hanging people from trees" for no reason at all is a part of history that cannot be denied.

If noone even notices that Stevie Wonder does not show up, at least he has the right to feel the way he chooses about not showing up. That is far better than following someone with a loaded gun and a flashlight based on an assumption.

Truth of the matter is, too many folk are trying to define others as though they themselves feel they have a monopoly on everything, including life. That too, is a travesty...it really is.

By the way, good morning...I had a good night's sleep.
