Trash pickup must improve

  • Follow Letters

A man lived in a beautiful city his entire life, but things were changing. He was told that there was only one place where he could buy food, and orders were placed twice a week. He was OK with that and placed his order.

While waiting to be served, he found orders were only to be placed once a week hereafter. Again, he agreed. After all, what choice did he have? But he was hungry.

He waited patiently for his order and it did not come. When he asked what was going on, he was told that his order had been overlooked and that they were sorry, but there was nothing anyone could do about it, and hopefully his next order would go through.

This story is true. The town is Augusta, and the “food” is our new garbage pickup. I have never been so disappointed as to be told as a taxpayer that – regarding a service I am forced to pay for and don’t receive – nothing can be done for me.

I hope things improve.

Mr. Bowles. You'll soon be living in the Detroit of the South. Every bit of your hard earned money and property will be used to fund the village.

TRASH PICK-UP MUST IMPROVE

What incentive does the government have to improve service?
They are the only game in town if you want trash picked-up. Even if you don't want to use them you will still have to pay for pick-up. The only incentive" they" have is to do what "they" want. By the way....this is true for any service in which the government has complete control. Wait until the government has "complete" control of your healthcare !

One thing I have noticed

is my garbage can smells a lot worse now when it is picked up on Wednesday after having garbage sitting in it from Wednesday night until pick up the following Wednesday. Just think of the fragrances it will emit when we are in 100 degree heat in July and Augusta.

Go downtown and swear out

Go downtown and swear out arrest warrants for the Mayor, the Commissioners, and the Administrator. Charge......THEFT BY DECEPTION, THEFT OF SERVICES.

FILE A LAWSUIT in Small Claims Court.

SUE the Tax Commissioner this fall when he puts the full amount on your Property Tax Bill. Keep a calendar of the pickups they miss so you can document them.

And remember......6 members of our commission.......a commission that is proven to be taking bribes, perks, and contributions......did this to us......ALONG WITH........an apparently incompetent head of the SOLID WASTE office who has big, expensive ideas to screw the taxpayer but leaves much to be desired when it comes to executing his end of the plan. He is MUCH MORE WORRIED about collecting the money than he is on delivering the service.

YOU CAN BET they won't miss you when it comes time to send you the BILL.
