Real stars outside of movie

Over the weekend my family and I decided to go see a movie. I expected the chance to be touched emotionally while inside the theater. What I had not counted on was being touched while waiting in line.

There was a group of Star Trek fans with a booth set up. This makes sense because the new Star Trek movie just came out, and I am sure they were excited. I was too. There were people of all ages, dressed up in uniforms and T-shirts, expressing their dedication to their fandom.

They were also expressing their dedication to the local community. They were taking donations of canned food and money to give to the Golden Harvest Food Bank.

It was good to see such a selfless act. Too many times super fans focus solely on their passion. These folks were focused on the right things. I got a flier, and the group is called “Star League.”

I just wanted to thank them for inspiring me to be a better person.
