The Torah is the primary source of Jewish law. It states: “(A man) shall not lie with another man as with a woman, it is a toeba (abomination)” (Leviticus 18:22). The stated punishment for willful violation is the death penalty.
According to the Bible’s Romans 1:26-27: “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”
The Islamic Quran, in 26:165-166, says “What! Of all creatures in the world, do you approach males and leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people transgressing.”
These are very clear commandments against homosexuality, and punishments can be expected in this life and a sure penalty is waiting in the hereafter, according to the three religions. We must strive to overcome this behavior and help people to correct their stance.
The three great Abrahamic religions are based on the worship of one God without any form of partnership, and brings discipline among human beings to live in peace, harmony and love. The division created by homosexuality behavior induces differences, which may lead to irreligious behavior and disunity, breaking the discipline that has built this country to be a great nation.
