Pets have many benefits

  • Follow Letters

It is horrifying to read of the many animals that must be put down in our local county shelters. We appreciate the rescue groups that try to help find forever homes.

There should be community help in assuring that many pets will be spayed or neutered, and folks should not continue dumping pets by the roadside or at the shelters. WJBF-TV has an adopt-a-pet segment on its news show with Mary Morrison each Wednesday, and WAGT-TV broadcasts pets for adoption on its Friday early show just before 7 a.m., with Liz Hill.

Save a life and adopt from our local animal shelters. A pet can bring so much pleasure in life and lower our blood pressures and heart rates, too. Besides health benefits to owning a pet, the crooks themselves say that a barking dog will keep them away from bothering you or your property quicker than any other way.
