Vote Mark Sanford

  • Follow Letters

Congratulations to former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford for a decisive win in South Carolina’s First District congressional runoff election.

Sanford stomped 15 other strong candidates in the special Republican primary election to emerge victorious as our Republican nominee for this crucially important congressional seat. A Republican has served in the First District seat for the past 32 years. Republicans control six of seven South Carolina congressional seats, and it is important to keep this one. Sanford served as the First District congressman for three terms before deciding to serve as governor for two (mostly) excellent terms.

Some of us Republicans are deeply respectful of Sanford’s stellar record of resistance to hardened tax money addicts and tax-and-eat government.

Sanford has the wealth of political experience that we desperately need in Congress, and he is committed to an ideal of limited government that we desperately need in Washington, D.C.

Please vote Mark Sanford on May 7.

Joseph A. Murray

Walterboro, S.C.

Ummm, seems you forgot to mention one important fact about this man. Can anyone remember? It's truly amazing people forget so easily!

There would be NO chance in

There would be NO chance in HE double hockey sticks that I'd vote for this guy. If he would lie and cheat on his family and constituents once, why give him another chance. I was run out of office in disgrace and I could care less what little good he had done- the trust (which was limited) is GONE.

If he cheats on his wife and kids.....

he will certainly cheat on YOU. If he cannot manage his own household, how can he manage YOURS. Sanford had his chance to be a public servant. Sanford embodies the core problems with government. Enough said.

Should Mark Sanford and Tiger Woods really have a come-back

I know that morality can not be governed. I know that ALL people have sinned and are not worthy of "CASTING THE FIRST STONE".

I know all of this; and yet; I do not believe that niether Tiger Woods nor former SC Gov. Mark Sanford deserve a "come-back"!!

Come-backs should be allowed if these people have really, really changed for the better !! Please forgive me for sounding like I am a preacher, but the last people that DESERVE a come-back are Mr. Tiger Woods and Former SC Gov. Mark Sanford !! "If people will cheat on their spouse, they will cheat in any thing !"

Sanford showed too much hubris for some

He lost votes from many of my SC friends because he paraded the "other woman" around while campaigning. There are a lot of female voters that don't take kindly to that. Just saying...

.
As did Bubba Clinton when he lied about sex with Monica and went on to further glory. Both are sleaze of the First Magnitude but such is politics and public morality today.

Sanford will go on to win. We get just what we deserve. No more, no less....

If you can't beat them, join them I guess?

The Demorats remind us almost daily that morality doesn't matter, so Sanford gets a pass..

It's not about joining them, it's about survival. If you can get an acceptable alternative, then that's the way you go. If you can't, then you go with your sleaze as opposed to their sleaze.

The other alternative is to give the power to the enemy while feeling good about having stuck to your "principles" while your country self destructs.

Kinda reminds me of the choice the folks in the Donner party faced. Not a pretty picture.

The "no better" Party

It's refreshing that Republicans are now willing to admit that, rather than being better than anyone else, their candidates are actually NO BETTER than anyone else.

Maybe that should be Mark Sanford's new campaign slogan:
"MARK SANFORD - NO BETTER THAN CLINTON"
