While one stood up for us, others turned tail and ran

  • Follow Letters

While Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., had the courage to stand up and insist on an answer from our imperious golfer-in-chief about his ability to legally murder Americans in this country without due process, Sens. Lindsey Graham and John McCain were having dinner with and sucking up to said individual, and then had the unmitigated gall to criticize Paul.

They took an oath to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution. This would seem to include protecting our constitutional rights against being murdered by the government; having our borders inundated by illegal aliens; being able to protest government actions and travel freely without being molested; and being able to possess firearms without being registered so our arms can be confiscated at their whim.

The president also took this oath, but anyone with an awareness of what the Constitution says can see his disdain for our founding document.

Unfortunately, our educational system has been dumbed down to the point where most younger Americans do not even realize they are being led into bondage by this man and his willing accomplices in our government and in the liberal mainstream media.

Some senators have been in Washington, D.C., too long, and obviously consider themselves to be among the elites who do not have to conform to the rules that bind the rest of us. They are probably planning to ratify the United Nations treaties that subjugate us to that body.

They should be so ashamed of their actions that they should step down and leave Washington with their forked tails between their legs!

Very well said

We sorely need people in DC who believe more in the Constitution than in their political "careeers" and courting favor by ''bring home the bacon" and getting more sucking the teat of the nanny government. Many go to DC to do good and stay to do well....for themselves.

The only I've seen thing that

The only I've seen thing that comes close to anything like the letter writer describes around here has been Operation Thunder, which hits the "travel freely without being molested" part. I don't think Obama has anything to do with that. Rand and his dad are Randian kooks. The less people we have in Congress who base their political philosophy on bad fiction written by someone who was a "philandering, Russian atheist, the author of vast doorstop-sized tomes like Atlas Shrugged and the ripped-off biography The Fountainhead, and other thick, boring books espousing, essentially, psychotic libertarian themes and ideology" (thanks RationalWiki) the better.

Techfan.....c'mon. Address

Techfan.....c'mon. Address the issue being discussed. Was the president and members of his administration refusing to answer the question about using drones to kill American citizens on American soil in violation of the Constitution? Anwer: YES

Was Rand Paul insisting on getting an answer to that question? Answer: YES

Did McCain and Graham have dinner with Obama and then criticize Paul for making an issue about the president possibly reserving the right to use drones to kill Americans on American soil? Answer: YES

Your comment is totally irrelevant in relation to the letter.

As usual, saw your comment and I SHRUGGED.

Obama shredding the Constitution

Bodhisattva, just like "selective hearing", there is "selective reading". Obama is in the process of shredding the Constitution, and has started with the "Bill of Rights". Go back and reread the letter. There's a lot more than the murder of American citizens without "due process" and the limiting of travel in there.
You overlooked the 2nd Amendment, and the oaths Graham and McCain took to protect us from "all enemies, foreign and domestic". That includes the President of the United States as well as the 20-30 million Illegal Aliens that have invaded our country, stealing and using the Social Security numbers to get jobs that unemployed Americans need. Obama and the "Gang of Eight" plan to turn the 20-30 million Illegal Aliens into voters, clear and simple!!

Randian Kooks

I accept Ayn Rand’s political philosophy. But I am no kook.

By the way, have you noticed how the liberal news media has pushed Lindsey Graham to the forefront of the Republican sound bite pack? He is their new darling. I guess the liberal media see that John McCain is getting so long in the tooth he's unintelligible, and they need a younger RINO for their sound bites. Republicans would do well to distance themselves from Graham.

Did you read

That McCain and Graham and 2 dem senators were touring the border when, lo and behold, a female illegal alien scaled the 18 foot fence. Border patrol quickly arrested her.

That probably happened after

That probably happened after the senators had been assured that the border was more secure, less porous than it has been in past years. After all, isn't that what we are being told?

Graham, McCain and Obama

They're all part of the ruling class. That little dinner meeting was nothing more than strategic planning on how to protect their ruling class status.

You're so right when it comes to the plutocracy we now have in this country. Laws are only ment for us peons and not the ruling elites. All these Washington bureacrats Republican and Democrats are padding their own nests while we idiots keep electing them over and over. The lives of the voters continue to get worse and they keep voting for the same clowns expecting something to change but it never does. As long as they keep us arguing among ourselves they're free to keep up business as usual. It's time to throw all incumbants out and have term limits. Earn your living outside the beltway and live by the same laws everyone else goes by.

Term limits need to include

Term limits need to include some control on lifetime benefits. But the conundrum involves the deep pockets politicians need in order to run successfully. The pay does not approach the salary. But they do retire with a comfy situation. See Bill Clinton, for example.
