Obama's destruction goes on

  • Follow Letters

On Sept. 3, 2009, you published my words:

“(President) Obama is, not by accident, but by evil design, doing all in his considerable power to destroy this nation from within. He is not just a ‘community organizer’ from Chicago who really doesn’t know what he’s doing. He is an organizer who is in the business of bringing about the downfall of our great nation. And if the House and Senate and Supreme Court will not rein him in, he just might succeed – and then God help us!”

Now it is 2013, and the evidence is all around us to affirm those statements. What has he done that adds to the overall support and strength and vitality of our nation? Not one thing!

Look at his policies on foreign affairs; the attempt to gut our military; his refusal to close our porous borders,; his absolute ignorance of anything to do with the American economy; his insistence on seeking to make many Americans dependent upon their government for their welfare, instead of working for it; his advocating more and more spending to the tune of trillions every year he has been in office; his total disregard for any kind of fiscal responsibility; and his vision of America that undermines every aspect of it that has made it the greatest nation in the world.

All will surely, if he is allowed to continue, destroy this nation from within! When will our congressional leaders wake up and see this?

The Rev. Jim Hyder

Augusta

It’s about time a man ...

of God, a man with such unique insight into the motivation behind this so-called President, has seen fit to publicly voice what many of us have already witnessed. Watching someone, who “by evil design, is doing all in his considerable power to destroy this nation.”

You go Rev Hyder. Any advice on what we should do in the event our “congressional leaders ‘fail’ to wake up and see this" would be most appreciated. ICL.

The President

I keep looking for these people who are being encouraged to let the government take care of them. I have three sources of income and not one is a welfare check. I would like to take the good reverend on a ride with me one day so he can see poor people riding the bus to work at fast food chains, maids, or on Sunday morning selling this newspaper on street corners. I see people selling vegetables and fruits at food stands.

Nobody told them that the president is giving away stuff or they would stay home in bed. There are plenty of things to disagree with the president about, you don't have to make up stuff.

Clear picture

If you want a clearer picture of what's really happening do NOT listen to what he says, but follow what he actually does. Always two completely different things. And whatever you do, do not believe anything the main stream media puts out about "The man who sits in the president's chair with his feet on the desk".

The poor

Obama loves poor people so much he created millions more. It is his economic polices that are to blame for people not having jobs. Millions have dropped out of the workforce and are no longer counted in the joblessness numbers. Real wages have fallen under his watch. Gary Ross is correct, the main stream media will not report on this. They report that the economy is getting better!

These people you describe were there even when the unemployment rate was 4% under George Bush. The poor will always be among us. The reason they are poor varies and is not solved with full employment. Many have mental reasons or health reasons and some have are addicted to drug or alcohol. The point is, there are millions of people today who are able to work, who choose not to take a low paying job due to so many welfare programs. The solution is to require some type of work in exchange for government benefits.

I completely agree with this letter.

I have always been under the theory that Obama has been groomed and placed on tract to become the President of the United States in order to change it into something it was not founded to be. I have no idea who "they" are. It's sort of like communists setting up cells with hopes of some of them getting through to accomplish their missions. I know what I'm about to say will sound crazy but here goes: I believe some group started years ago grooming some young individuals as "socialists" (Actually fascist is a more accurate description) with the hope that some or at least one would make it through to the top.
There are many infiltrators into all levels of our government today as there were by the communists during the Cold War. We don't really want to acknowledge that there are evil forces throughout the world who want to destroy the US and its way of life.
We know so little about Obama's background as to how he got into the schools he did, who paid for it, and whom his associates were.
I can't remember where I read it but the jest of it was that years ago some rich Arabs were funding programs to develpop young radicals to move through the levels of American government. Does this sound as if it's some nut case conspiracy theory? Yep, but that doesn't mean it ain't true and happening.

Obama has never had a class in American history

In his early years his schooling was in Indonesia where they do not teach American History. In Hawaii he was taught Hawaiian history which told about American colonialism and what it did to the Islands. Nothing on the country's founding and values. When he came to the mainland as a college student he went to leftist schools where American history is not taught except from the "how bad America is" perspective. All his mentors were communists such as Frank Marshall Davis, or communist sympathizers such as his mother and grand parents. So it is no suprise that his response when asked about American Exceptionalism he responded that everyone thinks their country is exceptional. I could go on and on about his background and influences but you get the point.

Exception

I agree with this letter except for one thing: "the attempt to gut our military." We have wound down the Iraq theater and are winding down the Afghanistan theater. There is no need for a military as large today as it was in 2004 to 2010. The military needs to be downsized. The military's budget needs to be cut. We need to focus our energy on protecting our borders and not on building roads and schools and power plants in third-world countries.

The poor...always with us

I agree, RMSHEFF.
But some act as if all that is wrong with America had its beginning in 2009. We will save billions by ending the wars not put on the books by the previous administration. That is where the deficit problem began; and VP Cheney said deficits don't matter. I guess that was then.

Economy is better

My investments are doing better than 2008, 2009....banks have record profits. I paid more taxes last year than some corporations, but GOP don't want a fairer tax system.

Most people who ask for proof really want another point to rebut as they are capable of getting the facts themselves if they care about facts.

Cheney was wrong, deficits

Cheney was wrong, deficits matter a lot. All it would take to bring down our entire economy is for interest rates to rise a few % points and we could not afford to service a 17 trillion dollar debt. Just like Obama said it is immoral to run even a 9 trillion dollar deficit as bush did. The wars are part of the deficit problem but entitlements are a much bigger problem. Wars end but entitlements continue. It sounds like you have been listening to the pro Obama main stream media. Almost every category is the same or worse that 2008. The actual unemployment rate is 15% when you look at work force participation rate and for minorities unemployment is 18%. Inflation is actually around 5% and gas and grocery prices historically high. Wages have had negative growth for over 4 years except in the highest brackets. The national debt is over 16 trillion. Housing sales are up slightly but only when you compare year over year, they are no where near 2008 levels. You are correct that corporate profits are up due to belt tithing (lay-offs) . If the only economic measure you use is your investments you are happy but if you are looking for employment or need a raise, trying to sell a house you are out of luck. Also I don't think you realize that the "final" consumer of all goods and services pay "all" of the taxes. America has the highest corporate tax rate of all industrialized countries and if you raise taxes on the corporations they only pass them on to you. A good example is the "evil" oil companies who only have a profit margin of about 5%. If Obama get his way and raises their taxes they only pass it on in the form of higher gas prices for you and I. Wake up and learn a little economics! This fact is true for every company as companies only collect taxes and forward it to the federal government. We pay them all !!

Psalms 139:23??????

Actual Psalms 139:23 "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts."

http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Psalms-Chapter-139/

You're probably talking about Matthew 7:2 which is a long way from Psalms, but your quote was pretty close in the wording.

Actually, people are supposed

Actually, people are supposed to judge; they are called Judges. Many were chosen by God in the old testament. He actually appointed Judges to oversee mankind. Actually, in God's original plan He didn't intend for men to be ruled by kings, but by a panel of judges. God was supposed to be the ruler of mankind; but as with most things, man ruined that and asked for a king to rule over them. They wanted someone they could actually see.

This is where some people intentionally confuse others. There is a HUGE difference in judging and discerning. We ARE supposed to discern from right and wrong.

"But some act as if all that

"But some act as if all that is wrong with America had its beginning in 2009. "

Actually, I don't think anyone said that. BUT, I will tell you something someone DID say; President Bush created 4 trillion in debt in 8 years. President Obama HIMSELF said this is dangerous and UNPATRIOTIC. Since OBAMA has created almost 7 trillion in debt in just over 4 years; by his OWN difinition, he is VERY unpatriotic!! President Obama said Bush had strapped our children with $30,000 each of debt and this is irresponsible. So now that debt for each one is $53,148.90.

But now somehow this doesn't matter? Debt isn't really all that important. Now, it's patriotic to create debt, because they are simply paying the bills, huh?

This is absolutely pathetic and so are those who support this unfettered spending spree.

I've seen those folks selling the papers too. One thing most of them seem to have in common is that they chain smoke and are not all that aggressive as I would be if I felt I had to supplement my income that way. The majority seem to be sitting on their stacks of papers, waiting on someone to call them over to a car.

Maybe someone can explain that to me. BTW, if they are selling papers on the street to keep from drawing welfare, they have my respect, regardless of their nicotine addiction, although I seriously doubt that they sell enough papers to pay for their cigs.
